Guided Motorcycle Tour in Romania

In this type of adventure, you will discover the meaning of a simple life, the bond between man and nature. In Romania, the villages will steal your heart and your imagination. Romania is full of small villages where wrinkled old ladies sit out on their front benches to gossip in the evenings, where shepherds still tend sheep and cows, and where you are more likely to be woken up by a rooster rather than morning traffic. It is like stepping back in time and well, in the rural villages of Romania, this phrase rings incredibly true. When seeing all this, you will also able to appreciate the honest simplicity of it all. And, of course, Transfagarasan is the big prize of this tour, but not the only one! You will have a fantastic ride, party, and adventure, just come with 4venture!

During dinner, you will discuss the details of the beautiful adventure awaiting in wonderful Romania!

Day 2: Brasov, Black Church

You will spend this day in the city of Brasov, an elegant place in Transylvania, with a unique medieval appearance to be admired in its entire splendor from its surrounding green glades and leafy hills. You will visit the tourist resort of Poiana Brasov, the Black Church in Brasov, have a taste of the excellent food of the elegant outdoor restaurants in Piata Sfatului, and share your impressions during the farewell dinner.

Day 3: Viscri medieval village, Sighisoara Fortress

On the third day, you will go to Sighisoara, one of the few medieval fortresses that are still inhabited, also registered in the World Heritage of UNESCO. But before, you will have a stop at Dracula’s Castle, a place with so much fame that does not need any presentation! Then, next stop at Rupea village, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania, with the first signs of human settlements dating from the Paleolithic and early Neolithic. Also during this day, you will visit the village of Viscri, with a little over 100 inhabitants, home to one of the most spectacular fortified churches of the Transylvanian Saxons, one of the six registrations in the World Heritage of UNESCO. Viscri knew a lot of development after Prince Charles bought a property in this area, thus turning it from an isolated village into a true tourist attraction.

Day 4: Transylvania, Sibiu city, Valley of Fairies

You will have a rest in the beautiful city of Sibiu, a bohemian atmosphere behind medieval walls. Noble Saxon history breathes from every art nouveau façade and gold-embossed church. Renowned composers such as Strauss, Brahms, and Liszt played here during the 19th century, and Sibiu has been in the forefront of the Romanian cultural background through its festivals of opera, theatre, and film, as well as rock, jazz and more. Sibiu, known in German as Hermannstadt, has always been the center of the German minority in Romania since medieval times. Also during this day, you will visit a fairytale land hidden in the mountains of Transylvania, the Clay Castle of the Valley of Fairies. You will end the day with a delicious traditional Romanian dinner.

Day 5: Transfagarasan, Balea Waterfall

You will start your day with a rich breakfast since you have a 1480-step climb ahead of you! You will drive on the most famous road in Europe: Transfagarasan, called by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May “the most amazing road we have ever seen!”. On the mountaintop, you will have the opportunity to admire the crystal green water of Lake Balea. Then, you will visit Vidraru Dam, Fagaras Mountains, and fortress of Poenari, supposedly Vlad Tepes’ hideaway from the Turks. The legend says that Vlad Tepes, chased by the Turks, got away by hiding in this fortress after shoeing his horses backwards, confusing his attackers. The height of the fortress offers an amazing view of Cheile Argesului. You will end this beautiful day in a very nice and quiet camping in the forest!

Day 6: The amazing Transalpina

Transalpina road is the highest road in Romania. It is one of the famous Romanian high altitude roads. With a length of 146 kilometers, it goes through the Carpathians, reaching a maximum altitude of 2,145 meters above sea level in Pasul Urdele. Words cannot describe the true pleasure to ride a motorcycle on this stunning road. You will stay overnight on top of the mountain in Ranca.

Day 7: Polovragi cave, Horezu-ceramic artisans

Next stop is to Polovragi cave and Horezu, the ceramics artisans village. It will be a relaxing day with nice places to visit. We wil spent the night in a beautiful family lodge located in a forest, near a mountain stream.

Day 8: Curtea de Arges, monastery

You will continue your adventure to the town of Curtea de Arges where you spend the night. The town of Arges, with its special air, full of history and mystery, the first capital of the Romanian Country, is part of legends and sayings, including the most famous of all, the Legend of Manole. Arges is one of the oldest settlements in Romania, offering tourists a unique view, holiness, preserved old buildings, small streets and inviting terraces. After you take the lunch, you will ride back to Bucharest to have a nice dinner and share your impressions.
