Day 1: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Tiruvannamalai (195 kilometers / 121 miles)

You will visit Ekambareswarar and Kailasanathar Temples to appreciate Pallava architectural wonders built in 600 AD. Kanchipuram is renowned for its magnificent silk sarees. You will meet weavers who churn out magnificent sarees for Indian women.

You will visit the world’s oldest Shiva temple. The origin of this temple goes back to antiquity. Chola Kings built the present structure in the 9th century. An interesting way to experience this temple is to circumambulate the 14 kilometers circular path around the Hill temple to achieve freedom from the cycle of birth and rebirth!

Day 2: Tiruvannamalai - Gingee - Pondicherry (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

You will visit the ashram of the great philosopher Ramana Maharishi. This 19th-century philosopher was renowned for his saintly life, for being fully realized, and for the powerful transmissions that often occurred to visitors in his presence.

You will visit the meditation hall. A small trek takes you to the cave where Ramana Maharishi meditated for 17 years from 1899-1916. The cave is essentially an ashram in the shape of a perfect "OM" located on the eastern slope of the famous Arunachala Hill.

Next, you will visit Gingee Fort complex, which is on three hillocks: Krishnagiri to the north, Rajagiri to the west and Chandrayandurg to the southeast. The three hills together constitute a fort complex, each having a separate and self-contained citadel. The complex has a seven-storeyed Kalyana Mahal (marriage hall), granaries, prison cells, and a temple.

You will climb one of the forts and the climb is expected to take 90 minutes up and 45-60 minutes to get down. You will then ride 70 kilometers to Pondicherry.

Day 3: Pondicherry (50 kilometers / 31 miles)

The tour of Pondicherry begins with a visit to Aurobindo Ashram. Guests will get a brief experience of his life and times as well as his philosophy and revolutionary ideas. A French heritage walk is organized through the heart of the city where one can see glimpses of the exquisite French style of architecture.

You will travel to Auroville, the radical concept of a global village where thousands of people from across the world have given up their nationalities and are living as global citizens. You will visit the famous promenade and Gandhi Square in the evening.

Day 4: Pondicherry - Mahabalipuram - Chennai (170 kilometers / 106 miles)

You will explore the rock-cut sculptures of Mahabalipuram including Pancha Ratha, Arjuna’s Penance, Krishna Butterball and the Shore Temple. Later, a two-hour ride will get you back to Chennai for end of the motorcycle tour Chennai loop.

A support vehicle will be provided if there are at least five riders.
