Go on an amazing trip through Mongolia where your destination will be Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. Mongolia is the perfect place for people who enjoy wide open spaces, unspoiled landscapes, and challenging tracks. You will be having the time of your life on Yamaha dirt bikes. Your time will be spent just exploring Central and Northern Mongolia.
You will be accommodated in various accommodations including a hotel, tents, and ger camps. Ger camps are dome-like felt tents of local nomads. This unique
structure is an ingenious invention of Mongolian pastoral herders, which is perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions in the country as they provide authentic nomadic felt tents with centralized bathroom and toilet facilities located nearby.
The bikes available for your use during this tour includes Yamaha dirt bikes WR250F, WR450F, and XT250.
You will arrive at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (ULN) and meet up with the local guide and then be transferred to the hotel. You will be allotted time allowing you to transfer to the garage and get to know the bikes. You will have a safety training and test drives. The night will bring a welcome dinner in one of the centrally located restaurants. You will overnight at the hotel.
On your first trip day, you will ride out of Ulaanbaatar on a pavement road to the countryside. On your way, you will be riding on dirt tracks to get familiar. The terrain is mostly a vast land with some wheat fields and open valleys that border with some rocky outcrops. Prepared and packed lunch will be served along the way. You will overnight at a tented camp at the sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai, 280 kilometers / 174 miles west of Ulaanbaatar.
You will travel some 180 kilometers / 111 miles northwest, passing through the site of the ancient capital of Mongolia, Kharakhorum, with a possible stop at the first Buddhist monastery Erdenezuu. You will then continue onto Tsenkher hot springs.
You will be riding about half way on paved road and second half of the trip will be on dirt through some beautiful scenery of rolling hills. You will be seeing a lot of herds of livestock such as cows, yaks, and sheep that were herded for many centuries. Towards the end of the day, you will be crossing a river. You will be overnighting in tents.
This day, you will be riding about 200 kilometers / 124 miles further, passing through mountainous sceneries and narrow valleys. You will cross Chuluut River and stop by its canyon. The several hundred feet deep river is one of the most beautiful sceneries of your journey. In the afternoon, you ride into an area formed by an ancient volcano, Horgo, where you will have the opportunity to climb up the crater.
You will overnight in a local ger camp; your first stay in a dome-like felt tents of local nomads. This unique structure is an ingenious invention of Mongolian pastoral herders, which is perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions in the country.
This will be a pure dirt track day. You will ride 150 kilometers / 93 miles eastwards through some hilly country. Depending on the weather and rainfall, you will be crossing some challenging stretches of the road on this day, including a river crossing. You will have plenty of opportunities to visit local herders and enjoy their traditional hospitality. You will be staying the night in a tented camp.
This will be another full day on dirt tracks. Today, the scenery will open up more to wider, bolder valleys, and smoother mountains. You will be going through some sandy stretches and crossing a small river of Hanui. At the end of the day, arrive at one of the lakes in central Mongolia, called Ogii. You will have an opportunity to enjoy boating and fishing and then stay in a local ger camp.
Today, you will ride on some dirt roads but towards the end of the day, you will get onto pavement roads, though for those who are comfortable with it, you can continue your ride on dirt tracks for the most of the day. You will then transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport.
