During this tour, you will be accommodated with local people in homestays. You will be welcomed by very friendly and nice hosts.

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau village (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at about 07:00 a.m., and accompany you to the starting point. You should get familiar with your bikes before hitting the road because the traffic culture in Hanoi is very different and it gets chaotic with people not obeying any traffic regulations.

After following the highway for about 60 kilometers you will ride straight up to the hill and cross a river through the forest on an off-road stretch of about 30 kilometers (19 miles), before lunch. Postt lunch, you will get to take a sightseeing trip and will then continue on a dirt road to Mai Chau village, where you will reach before dark. Your overnight halt will be a homestay with White Thai people and you will be offered lunch and dinner. You will be riding approximately for 50 kilometers (31 miles) on the dirt road.

Day 2: Mai Chau village - May Waterfall (120 kilometers / 75 miles)

After breakfast, at 07:30 a.m., you will ride around the village and then embark into the forest again to challenge yourself. This will be the most difficult day of the tour and therefore the itinerary of the tour may be changed in case of bad weather conditions.

You will be heading towards Muong Village, where you will take a break and have lunch at about noon time. A gorgeous cool stream flows along the stilt house here, which may tempt you to take a quick dip, however, please do not hurry, as you still have a long dirt track ahead to ride through in the afternoon.

Your overnight halt will be in a stilt house, located at the foot of the waterfall which is at the downstream of this spring. You will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, today and will be riding approximately for 70 kilometers (43 miles) on the dirt road.

Day 3: May Waterfall - Hanoi (120 kilometers / 87 miles)

You will begin your day early today and if you did not relax in the waterfall the day before, please do so now as you may not have a second chance to visit this beautiful place. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee beside the waterfall and have breakfast listening to chirping sound of birds.

The road ahead is not long but is very interesting because of the diverse terraces and beautiful nature. Enjoy this scenic ride to reach Hanoi and end your incredible tour at about 04:30 p.m. You will be served breakfast and lunch today.

Driving guidelines

In some areas of Vietnam, Vietnamese people join traffic with no rules. They can participate in traffic right after drinking beer and wine, use horn loudly to surpass, pass on the right, turn left or right with no turn signals, or ride into the other vehicle lanes.

It is hence recommended to stay safe when riding motorbikes in Vietnam and in addition to learning the basic regulations of the law on road traffic, you also have to know about the traffic habits of Vietnamese people. Please be mindful of keeping right from the traffic, and monitoring the speed at allowed limits of 40 kilometers per hour in towns and 60 kilometers per hour outside of towns.

It is recommended to use the horn and flash headlights when your view is limited at the corners. Also, use turn signals and also turn your head to look back when you want to change the lane or directions. Be careful when you want to surpass because many people cross the street, change the lane, or direction without any signal, likewise when you ride in the tracks or cross the forests, please be over cautious.

Please remember, many local people and their animals have a habit of crossing the road freely and hence caution needs to be exercised at all times.
