Program

Day 1: Sofia, Bulgaria

Welcome to Bulgaria, the country where people shake their heads to mean yes and nod for no. You will be collected from Sofia Airport and transferred to your hotel in the capital city. Accommodation and briefing.

Day 2: Sofia, Bulgaria - Sipoceane - Pazardjik - Edirne, Turkey (413 kilometers / 257 miles / 5 hours and 50 minutes)

Start your motorbike adventure by riding to Edirne. Founded by the roman Emperor Hadrian, the place used to be called Adrianople back in the days. Spend the night in Edirne and enjoy strolling the streets of this beautiful city.

Day 3: Edirne, Turkey - Gallipoli - Anzac Cove - Canakkale (211 kilometers / 131 miles / 3 hours and 40 minutes)

Ride along Dardanele Strait, separating Asian Turkey from European Turkey. Your next destination is Anzac Cove - a small cove on the Gallipoli peninsula, the site of World War I landing of the ANZACs The beach became the main base for the Australian and NZ troops during the Gallipoli campaign. Cross Dardanele by ferry and spend the night in Canakkale.

Day 4: Chanakale - Troy - Foca - Izmir (310 kilometers / 193 miles / 5 hours)

The wooden horse used in the movie Troy is on display in Canakkale, but you are off to visit the real archaeological site of Troy - UNESCO World Heritage. Troy, with its 4,000 years of history, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Continue your journey to western Anatolia. Spend the night close to Aegean Sea in the city of Izmir.

Day 5: Izmir - Selcuk (Ephesus) - Pamukkale (351 kilometers / 218 miles / 6 hours and 15 minutes)

Morning ride to the ancient city of Ephesus. Great monuments of the Roman Imperial period including the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre can be found here. Remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world attracts visitors all over the world. Evening in Pamukkale.

Day 6: Pamukkale (rest day)

Rest day in beautiful Pamukkale. Enjoy spending time in the thermal water, natural swimming pools or visit the archaeological site of Hierapolis, either way relaxation is guaranteed. Accommodation in Pamukkale.

Day 7: Pamukale - Burdur - Isparta - Kale - Konya (417 kilometers / 259 miles / 5 hours and 44 minutes)

The ride to Konya will reveal the beautiful vistas of Burdur and Egirdir Lakes. The city of Konya is the city of the famous. Whirling Dervishes, love and tolerance. Accommodation in Konya.

Day 8: Konya - Goreme, Cappadocia (236 kilometers / 147 miles / 3 hours)

Continue your journey to central Anatolia to reach Cappadocia - a region with exceptional natural wonders, characterized by fairy chimneys and a unique historical and cultural heritage. Accommodation in Goreme.

Day 9: Goreme, Cappadocia (rest day)

Enjoy a rest day in Cappadocia. Seeing the region from above during a hot air balloon ride will surely impress you. If you fear the heights, you can go underground - visit the troglodyte cave-cities. There are 36 underground cities in Cappadocia and the widest one is Kaymakli underground city. Spend the night in Goreme.

Day 10: Goreme - Ankara (291 kilometers / 181 miles / 3 hours and 30 minutes)

Ride to Ankara, Turkey's second largest city after Istanbul. Ankara became the new Turkish capital upon the establishment of the Republic on 1923. Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara, is visited by large crowds every year during national holidays. Accommodation in Ankara.

Day 11: Ankara - Zonguldak (270 kilometers / 168 miles / 3 hours and 35 minutes)

From the Central Anatolia to the Black Sea. Today you will ride to Zonguldak, a city famous for mines and mysterious caves. Gökgöl Cave is fifth biggest cave in the country. The fossils found in this cave prove a history of 300 million years. Accommodation in Zonguldak.

Day 12: Zonguldak - Istanbul (346 kilometers / 215 miles / 6 hours and 30 minutes)

Ride your motorbike on the Black Sea Coast. You will leave Asia behind as you cross Bosphorus Strait and reach the imperial city of Istanbul. You are on Europe Land again. Accommodation in Istanbul.

Day 13: Istanbul (rest day)

Enjoy a rest day in one of the greatest cities in the world - Istanbul. Istanbul is a fascinating city built on two continents and divided by Bosphrus Strait. You can visit Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia Mosque or enjoy a boat ride. Accommodation in Istanbul.

Day 14: Istanbul - Sofia (550 kilometers / 342 miles / 6 hours)

Continue your journey back to Bulgaria and its capital city - Sofia. Situated at the center of the Balkan Peninsula, the city lies at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. Accommodation in Sofia.

Day 15: Sofia

Transfer to the Airport for your flight back home.

Bike rental deposit

Adventure Motorcycle Tours and Rentals requires a bike rental deposit depending on the bike of your choice. The deposits are as follows:

  • BMW F800GS, BMW G650 GS, BMW F850 GS, BMW R 1200 GS: 1500 EUR
  • BMW R 1200 GS LC: 2000 EUR

Requirement

You must have a valid motorcycle license to rent a motorcycle from Adventure Motorcycle Tours - Transylvania Live. The license from your country is sufficient - you don't have to get an international drivers license.
