This motorcycle tour covers the highlights of Italy and France's must-see regions including Venice, Florence, Siena, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Bonifacio, Bastia, coastal ride of Corsica and Sardinia, vineyards of Tuscany.
Siena is likely Italy's loveliest medieval city. Siena's heart is its central piazza known as Il Campo, known worldwide for the famous Palio run here, a horse race run around the piazza two times every summer.
Movie audiences worldwide can see Siena and the Palio in the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. Siena was an important center of painting, sculpture, and architecture, and has several notable works dating from the early Italian Renaissance.
Bonifacio is on the southern coast of Corsica, separated from the Italian island of Sardinia by the 11-kilometer-long Strait of Bonifacio, which is named after the town. The two islands were once joined, but volcanic activity tore them apart, leaving huge shards of granite rock in the turquoise waters. The seafloor here is now dotted with wrecks of pirate ships and ancient vessels which crashed against the many crags, and has become a mecca for divers.
There are few towns that can boast such a dramatic, seemingly precarious position as Bonifacio! Teetering perilously atop an eroding limestone promontory that juts out into the sea, east to west, for around1.5 kilometers, it has to be seen to be believed.
Daily breakfast is included. All lunches and dinners are also included in the cost of the guided tours, except on rest days. Dinners are usually à la carte and you can order anything that’s on the menu. Moto Tours Europe pays special attention to organizing meals in local restaurants, so guests could try local specialties.
