Day 2: Cape Agulhas, South Africa

Today will be an early start as you will leave Cape. On your way to Cape Agulhas (the most southern point of the continent of Africa!), you will be stopping at Hermanus and Betty's Bay. Hermanus is world famous for whale watching as southern right whales come within meters of the shoreline!

From here, head to Betty's Bay which is home to the stony point penguin colony! You read that right. Penguins in Africa! You will be within feet of these amazing creatures as you wind your way through their colony.

Then finally, you will set off to Cape Agulhas the most southerly point on the continent of Africa.

  • Accommodation: guesthouse
  • Meal plan: breakfast

Days 3 and 4: Schotia Game Reserve, South Africa

Today’s ride takes you to the oldest privately owned game reserve in South Africa. This will be your home for the next two nights. Here you will be staying on a private reserve and will do an afternoon game drive before meeting in the bush at a Lapa for a traditional African three-course meal and drinks.

You will then do a night drive while heading to your accommodation. The next morning, you will get up early for another game drive to check out any lion kills then on to breakfast.

The adventure continues with a private boat and a day spent looking for marine life and the giant right whales that come every year to mate in the waters around Port Elizabeth. You will be then transported back to the reserve and accommodation.

The tented camps offer complete freedom as every encampment is safely nestled in private clusters of bush, leaving guests surrounded by luscious greenery, trees, singing birds, antelope, and the roaring of the lions giving its natural uninterrupted feel.

  • Accommodation: lodge (tented camp carries a supplement)
  • Meal plan: breakfast and evening meal including wine and beer

Day 5: Gabarone, Botswana

The first day of your early starts but the ride is truly scenic. Today you will head further north as you set off for Botswana. You will be passing the famous Kimberley Diamond Mines on your way to the capital city of Botswana - Gabarone.

Days 6 and 7: Senyati Safari Camp, Botswana

Today, you make your way further north and deep into Botswana. On this route, it is not uncommon to come across large herds of elephants crossing the road on the “Elephant Highway” - a truly spectacular sight!

The campsite for the next day is Senyati Safari Camp. This slice of heaven is situated in the Lesoma Valley, Northern Botswana, 20 kilometers from Kasane (difficult to get to but so worth it).

With the claim to the best bar in the world, you will not believe the sight of hundreds of elephant’s cape buffalo and sometimes lions only feet away from the drinks terrace that overlooks the watering hole every evening.

For anyone wishing to, a trip into the world famous Chobe National Park is an option.

  • Accommodation: bush chalet overlooking watering hole
  • Meal plan: breakfast

Days 8 and 9: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Today you head into Zambia via the largest ferry in Africa (just room for one truck and your bikes). You will cross the mighty Zambezi and head for the lodge on the banks of the Marimba River where you can enjoy meals and drinks just feet away from elephants, hippos, and crocs. Some of the guests have stumbled across hippos enjoying the grass on the lawns of the camp.

Time to relax and enjoy some of your time. Tonight will be spent on a Zambezi river cruise (watch the African sunset over the mighty Zambezi while enjoying complementary drinks and listening to African drums).

Be sure to fetch your camera for amazing pictures of hippos, elephants, and countless African birds framed by the African sunset. The next day is spent crossing into Zimbabwe to view one of the natural wonders of the world Victoria Falls.

The choice is yours. You can ride across the Victoria Falls bridge and complete the furthest point on the trip by motorbike or for those that want an easier time, you can use the back up truck.

For those that haven’t had enough adventure, your guide can arrange a bungee jump from the Victoria Fall bridge or an early morning micro light flight over the falls or even a cultural village tour get a real glimpse into Africa as Livingstone saw it.

It was excavated to a depth of 240 meters, but then partially infilled with debris reducing its depth to about 215 meters. Since then, it has accumulated water to a depth of 40 meters leaving 175 meters visible.

Beneath the surface, the Kimberley Mine underneath the Big Hole was mined to a depth of 1097 meters.
