Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar

On landing at the Srinagar Airport, reach hotel for relaxing overnight stay at Srinagar.

Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil (200 kilometers / 124 miles / 4 - 5 hours)

  • Altitude: 2675 meters / 8776 feet

Rise to a beautiful morning, and get ready to explore the thrilling day. Post breakfast, you will get on your bikes and you will start your Ladakh ride towards the scenic resort town of Sonmarg. From here, ride to the summit of Zoji La, and then descend to enter the Ladakh region.

On reaching the small town of Drass village, visit the Kargil War Memorial to learn some incredible facts about the 1999 battle. Thereafter head to Kargil for an overnight stay in hotel

Day 3: Kargil to Leh (220 kilometers / 137 miles / 4 - 5 hours)

  • Altitude: 3499 meters / 11480 feet

The ensuing stretch of the motorbike trip to Leh Ladakh tour you will cross two high-elevation mountain passes.

On leaving Kargil, you will first pass through Mulbek - giant living buddha sculpture on rock mountain, Lamayuru - one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh and enjoy the view of moon landscape.

Then get amazed by the intriguing phenomenon of magnetic hills and enjoy the divinity at Gurudwara Pather Sahib. On arrival in the city by evening, head to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley (160 kilometers / 99 miles / 2 - 3 hours)

  • Altitude: 5441 meters / 17851 feet

This section of the Srinagar to Manali motorbike expedition involves undertaking a scenic and thrilling road journey to the Nubra Valley. The road to the valley will take you across what is claimed to be the highest motorable road on earth - Khardung La.

Upon reaching the Nubra Valley which is located on the banks of the Nubra River, head to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 5: Nubra to Turtuk to Nubra (163 kilometers / 101 miles / 4 - 5 hours)

  • Altitude: 3001 meters / 9846 feet

Today, you will get ready to explore a place which was under Pakistan before 1971, Turtuk village. It is located in the Nubra tehsil, 205 kilometers (127 miles) from the Leh town, on the banks of the Shyok River and is the last village.

It spells stunning beauty throughout the valley. After exploring Turtuk you will ride back towards Nubra to stay overnight in your pre-booked hotel. On reaching, you can take a rode on bacterian camel of Nubra Valley.

Day 6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (150 kilometers / 101 miles / 3 - 4 hours)

  • Altitude: 4349 meters / 14268 feet

Today, you will leave behind the Stark region and move toward the pristine Pangong Lake. En route you will pass through Shyok village, which has been recently open for the tourists.

On reaching the shores of this enchanting water-body, take in its beauty and tranquility, and capture photos of the realm. Later, transfer to the campsite for a warming bonfire and a peaceful overnight stay in the lap of nature.

Day 7: Pangong to Leh (160 kilometers / 99 miles / 5 - 6 hours)

  • Altitude: 4522 meters / 14835 feet

Open your eyes to the scenic view of the Pangong Tso. After having breakfast you will leave for Leh. Today you will cross the second highest pass of the world, Chang La (5361 meters / 17,590 feet). This pass is considered amongst the toughest passes.

This pass connects Leh with the Changthang Plateau. Before climbing the mighty pass you will see a small lake, known as Tsoltak. After crossing the pass you will descend down to Shakti and will continue the remaining journey on the Manali-Leh highway.

You will reach Leh by early evening and enjoy the city and spend the night over there.

Day 8: Leh to Sarchu (250 kilometers / 155 miles / 9 -10 hours)

  • Altitude: 4290 meters / 14074 feet

In the morning, after a scrumptious meal of breakfast, the next stop for your tour is Sarchu. You will pass through the borders of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, taking in the panoramic vision of the mighty mountains and colors of nature.

You will pass through the third highest pass, Tanglang La (5328 meters / 17,480 feet). Then you will pass through Morey-plains, a plateau at an astounding height of 4724 meters / 15,500 feet with a 45-kilometer (27-mile) stretch of flat road.

You will then cross the twin passes - Lachung La (5065 meters / 16,616 feet) and Nakee La (4739 meters / 15,547 feet) before reaching the famous Gata Loops (21 hairpin bends). Then by evening, you will be reaching Sarchu.

Day 9: Sarchu to Jispa (103 kilometers / 64 miles / 3 - 4 hours)

  • Altitude: 3080 meters / 10104 feet

After having your morning breakfast, you will leave for your next destination - Jispa. You will be crossing the mighty Baralacha La at 4892 meters / 16050 feet, and riding through the passage of snow at Baralacha Pass and Zing-Zing Bar will be an exhilarating ride.

You will reach in the evening and indulge in stories with the locals and your other friends. Overnight stay in hotel in hotel / camps.

Day 10: Jispa to Manali (120 kilometers / 75 miles / 6 - 8 hours)

  • Altitude: 2050 meters / 6726 feet

Wake up with the sunrise in Jispa and have your breakfast in the accommodation. You will be riding towards the last day of your adventurous journey. Kick start the bike and pass through the iconic route of rohtang pass, and some of the most scenic villages of Lahaul Valley. Reach Manali and stay overnight at your pre-booked hotel.

Day 11: Departure from Manali

As soon as the morning unfolds, get ready as today will be the last day of your Srinagar to Manali motorbike expedition. After a hearty meal of breakfast, you can explore Manali at your own leisure and by evening report back by 4:00 p.m. to board the Volvo bus to Delhi for an overnight journey.

Bike rental deposit

Backpackclan requires a bike rental deposit of 10000 INR per bike. If any there are any damages in the bike, the damage cost will be deducted from refundable security deposit.
