You will stay at good hotels based in a single or double room occupancy. Solo riders who wish to stay in a single room can be accommodated at an extra cost of 360 USD.
Starting in Puerto Vallarta, you will ride directly into the mountains passing through different vegetation zones. You will stop and visit the old colonial village of San Sebastián del Oeste. Leaving the village behind, you will ride on spectacular curvy mountain roads up to more than 1800 meters / 5900 feet towards the small old colonial town of Mascota.
After your lunch break, you will ride to Talpa de Allende, a famous and very important town for Catholic pilgrims. You will have time to explore the wonderful colonial center with its plaza, awe-inspiring church, and enjoy the special atmosphere on the streets in the evening.
From Talpa de Allende, you will ride on spectacular roads with hundreds of twisting curves to the old colonial town of Ameca. You will have time for a snack and visit the historical city center with its wonderful market and colonial buildings. Afterward, you will leave Ameca and cross the fertile farming land of the Mexican highlands before you arrive at Lake Chapala. The lake, situated at about 1500 meters / 5000 feet is the biggest lake in all Mexico. You will stay overnight in the beautiful and charming town of Chapala.
Leaving Chapala, you will ride around nearly the whole Lake Chapala, which is approximately 80 kilometers / 50 miles long. You will ride on twisty roads into the pinewood forests of Michoacan up to 2500 meters / 8200 feet before you reach the beautiful colonial city of Morelia, which is the capital of the state of Michoacán. The city is one of the oldest cities in Mexico with many impressive buildings from the 16th century like the very impressive cathedral and beautiful plazas like in Italy. At the end of the day, you will stay in a beautiful old colonial hotel.
From Morelia, you will ride about 1 hour before you reach the colonial town of Pátzcuaro, situated at the lake with the same name. You will have a coffee stop at the town plaza before you ride further to the Volcano Paricutin. This volcano is only about 75 years old. The lava destroyed the surrounding villages and you can still see the steeple of the church, which is still there. After lunch, you will ride further to Mazamitla. With its wooden houses, the town looks like you are in Switzerland or Austria. You will stay here for the night.
You will leave Mazamitla and descend on twisty mountain roads. On your way to Colima, you will have awesome views over the Volcano Colima and the Nevado de Colima, which in wintertime can be snow-capped. You will have lunch at another Pueblo Mágico (Magic Village) in Comala. After a lunch break, you will head further towards the Pacific Ocean and it will get warmer again. You will pass Manzanillo with its important port before you reach your destination, Barra de Navidad.
After all the days of a lot of riding, today will be the time to relax a bit. You can stay in the small and laid back beach town and just relax at the beach. Or if you wish, you can go on a boat trip and visit the nearby bays or beaches as well as fishing and snorkeling.
You will ride north and explore some of the beautiful beaches, bays, and fishing villages on your way. You will have your lunch break in Punta Perula, a laid back village situated on a beautiful bay. After lunch, you will start your last part of this trip back to Puerto Vallarta.
During this tour, you can choose to rent these motorcycles listed below.
Note: It's possible to stay 2 nights in Morelia instead of 2 nights in Barra de Navidad. This way, you will have more time to enjoy the beautiful city of Morelia. Please send Bike Mexico an inquiry for more information and bookings.

"My wife and I took a tour while we were there on our honeymoon and it was the best adventure we did. Immediately upon arrival, Jürgen and his wife Eli were very nice and accommodating. The bikes were very new and in great condition. He took us to some very neat and beautiful places away from the hustle of the city. This is a must do if you want to see the beautiful country and avoid the tourist traps."

"I had a flawless experience renting a Honda XR250 (dual-purpose bike) for 1 day and exploring the hills east of Puerto Vallarta. The bikes were all 2015 models, mine had only 4000 kilometers on it and was in excellent shape. Jurgen was very helpful setting me up with riding gear and sat down with me and pointed out a couple of local routes on a map as well as showing me the easiest way of getting out of town. It was nice to get out of the resort for a day and see some of the beautiful areas. I highly recommend Bike Mexico!"

"Bike Mexico is a new company to Puerto Vallarta but they managed our experience like they had been in business for several years. Jurgen was a great guide from the moment we started to our return at the end of the day. The equipment and motorcycles were in excellent condition. My wife and I shared the same bike (BMW) and felt great all day. This was by far the best day we had on our trip."
