Day 1: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Delhi International Airport, meet and greet with a representative followed by transfer to hotel. Optional: Today you can do a Delhi city tour with a guide on additional cost.

Day 2: Delhi - Guwahati (by flight)

Your port of arrival is Guwahati, here you will be met by your local team and transferred further to your designated hotel. After you are refreshed you will take the opportunity to introduce yourself to your motorcycle following which you have a comprehensive briefing regarding the days to come.

Day 3: Guwahati - Tezpur (approximately 180 kilometers / 111 miles / 5 hours)

Heading out of congested Guwahati as daybreak, ride east towards the rising sun on four lane national highways. Today you will ride to Tezpur, a historic city lying at the north bank of the Brahmaputra. The distance for the day is 180 kilometers, which should be short work, taking you at most five hours.

The idea is to get used to the new environment and riding conditions gradually. Before getting into Tezpur you will make a brief stopover at the Kolia Bhumura bridge, where you will take a short boat ride to sight the ever dwindling Gangetic River Dolphins.

Once at the hotel, you will have a short debrief regarding the day and also brief you regarding the next day’s ride. These evening sessions will be the norm throughout the trip.

Day 4: Tezpur - Bomdila (approximately 235 kilometers / 146 miles / 7-8 hours)

Today will be your first day on the mountains. Here you will be riding along the Bhutan border for most of the day. Initially you will have dense evergreen forests at the lower altitudes, but as you climb you will notice the vegetation changing and becoming sparse. In relative terms the roads are generally in good condition.

Day 5: Bomdila - Tawang (approximately 170 kilometers / 106 miles / 7-8 hours)

Today will be a long and high road as we pass the 13700 feet Sela Pass. Start with a descent towards the Dirang Valley. The next stage takes you up to the Sela pass which is a constant climb. There is always a high chance of finding snow up here, but the Army usually ensures its open throughout the year.

From here, a long descent with numerous hairpins takes you to the valley floor only to start climbing again. Situated at 10,000 feet Tawang is the last proper town before Tibet in this sector.

Tawang, a town famous for its Monastery which is one of the important religious centres of Tibetian Buddhism and its panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas into Bhutan in the west and Tibet in the North. In older times this used to be an important town due to its proximity to Tibet and Bhutan.

Day 6: Tawang - Dirang (approximately 140 kilometers / 87 miles / 6-7 hours)

Retracing your route you will make your way to the township of Dirang, again you will have to cross the Sela Pass.

Day 7: Dirang - Nameri (approximately 200 kilometers / 124 miles/ 7-8 hours)

Leaving early you will make your way back to the Brahmaputra valley of Assam. Your destination is the Nameri Wildlife Sanctuary. For most part of the day you are off the main road as you ride on little used roads. Here you will stay in the eco camp run by the Anglers Association.

Day 8: Nameri

You will spend the whole of the next day here indulging in some Wildlife walks, ra feeting and relaxing.

Day 9: Nameri - Shillong (approximately 300 kilometers / 187 miles / 7-8 hours)

Leaving early head out towards Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. A colonial time hill town Shillong still preserves its old charms mixed now with modernity. The roads are excellent and mostly 4 lane till Shillong.

Day 10: Shillong - Dawki (approximately 170 kilometers / 106 miles / 5-6 hours)

Ride on some of the best riding roads of Meghalaya today. You will head out first towards Jowai, the capital of the Jaintia Hill district. En-route you will visit the Nartiang Monoliths, a popular place of visit while in Meghalaya.

Your destination for the day is Dawki lying at the border with Bangladesh. Today you will camp on the beach along the topaz blue waters of the river.

Day 11: Dawki - Cherrapunjee (approximately 100 kilometers / 62 miles / 4-5 hours)

A beautiful ride today. The distance of about 130 kilometers will take you across deep valleys and interestingly a 30 kilometers section along the Indo-Bangla border. For lunch, you will stop at Mawlynnong, supposedly the cleanest village in Asia.

Day 12: Cherappunjee - Guwahati (approximately 200 kilometers / 124 miles / 7-8 hours)

Your last day of the ride will take you back to Guwahati. The distance of 200 kilometers will take you about 7 to 8 hours to cover. Your hotel in Guwahti lies in the city bypass, in close proximity to the transporters, making it easy for those who need to truck their bikes back.

Day 13: Guwahati - Delhi (by flight) and departure

In time transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi, you will catch your flight for onward destination.
