This tour suggestion is oriented towards riders who had dedicated enough time to explore Bulgaria's deep secrets. In these nine days, you will ride on beautiful scenic roads and mountain passages, during which you will be introduced to our less known but amazing and interesting sights. You will see and learn a lot about off the beaten track places in Bulgaria.
During this tour, you will be staying at carefully selected three-star hotels across Bulgaria in a private room. All is included in the price except the overnight in Sofia for the last night of the tour.
You will start the tour on one of the most popular scenic moto road in Bulgaria. It is right next to the Central Balkan mountain. It will give you the pleasure of new asphalt and beautiful views. After a couple of hours you will reach our first stop, where you will have a guided visit of ancient "Diocletianopolis".
The town is still an active spa resort with well preserved Roman remains, where you might have your lunch. Another point of interest will be a Thracian tomb from the IV century BC. It is a good introduction to this ancient civilization, which you will need because during the trip you will visit many places related to them.
The final destination for the day is to reach one of the oldest cities in Europe - Plovdiv. The afternoon will be dedicated to explore the historical part of it. The overnight is scheduled to be in the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2019.
After breakfast, you will head towards to one of the biggest and most mystic Thracian sights. It is a city, built around one of the most famous ancient oracles of Dyonis. The place has archaeological layers from the Late Bronze Age to the late Medieval period.
Later on the day you will have another stop at Thracian sanctuary from the same ancient period. On the way to your final destination for the day, you will ride trough the east part of the Rhodope mountains.
The region is very interesting and contains the biggest population of Bulgarians, who have accepted the Islam during the Ottoman period. You will stay overnight in a town close to the Turkish border, full with stories from the Cold War and the best preserved Roman villa in this part of Europe.
In the morning you will have guided visit of the Roman villa. After that you will visit the Deaf stones - a mysterious place with non explained functions (there are some theories) left by the Thracians. It is situated in a mountain forest and will be one of the top mystical places that you have visited.
After lunch, your journey will lead you to the south part of the Black sea coast. The final stop will be in Nessebar, where you will stay overnight. The town is part of UNESCO World Heritage List and was one of the most important and busiest trade ports in the Hellenistic period (4th Century BC).
Your journey will continue up to the north part of the coast. First you will cross the Central Balkan Mountain then you will reach the Black sea capital - Varna. It is the biggest city on the Bulgarian coast and the most important trade and military port.
The main priorities will be to visit two of the most interesting museums in Bulgaria. One is holding a collection from the Communistic period and the other the oldest gold treasure in the world. This treasure is related to a civilization that is one of the big mysteries of our lands. You will stay overnight in the city.
After breakfast you will start your ride in the northeast part of Bulgaria. After a very short ride you will stop to enjoy the beauty of the nature and see the so called Stone Forest. During this day you will see some very interesting places of worship related to completely different cultures.
One of them is related to the Old Bulgarians. It is a huge carving high in the rocks. It is astonishing and definitely deserves to be part of UNESCO list. Other is a Thracian royal tomb, part UNESCO World Heritage list too.
The tomb is part of huge burial complex, situated next to ancient city of Hellis. On the other site of the IV century BC fortifications is situated a sanctuary related to a very interesting and rare Islamic society - the Alians.
You will visit their Demir Baba Teke. After this full of beautiful sites and knowledge ride you will head north to the Danube river where you will stay overnight in the "Small Vienna" - Ruse.
In the morning, you will star your journey south. You will visit Krushuna Waterfalls and Devetaki Cave (one of the most beautiful caves in Bulgaria full of stories from the "Cold War" to Hollywood productions).
You will have your lunch break in Lovech, where is interesting 19th century covered bridge and another Medieval fortress. The bridge is built by a very interesting Bulgarian architect, who without education in engineering had built lots of bridges and buildings which are still standing and even still used.
From there you will enter in one of the most beautiful and less known part of the Central Balkan Mountain. You will stay overnight in a small town in the area.
In the morning you will ride to one of the most spectacular and out of the light of the fame monastery - Glozen Monastery. Standing at the top of the mountain since the middle ages it still active and few monks are living there.
Before you reach back to Sofia you will stop at the birthplace of the last Communistic leader and learn the strange history of the transition period and the present political elite. You will visit his house, where there is a museum dedicated to him.
When you return to Sofia you will return, if you have rented the bikes. Bultrips Ltd can transfer you to Sofia Airport. Overnight in Sofia is not included. If you need such, please make sure to Bultrips Ltd.

Daniel is a professional travel guide, certified by the Bulgarian Travel Association, with more than 10 years of experience in the travel industry. He graduated from Management of Tourism in Varna, Bulgaria. His passion for motorbikes came a long time ago and he had the chance to ride different types of bikes, but really enjoys tourer and adventure motorcycles. At the moment, he is riding a Yamaha TDM 850 "the old horse."
Adrian has been working in the sphere of tourism for four years. Part of his profession is to be a guide in Bulgaria and create tour products. Adrian is an archaeologist and he uses his knowledge to represent Bulgaria's culture and history in the most realistic way that is possible. According to Adrian, his decision to get on the bike was one of the best he has ever made. He is a certified rider by California Super Bikes. He is currently riding a BMW F800R with a huge smile on his face.
Ivo has been on a bike since 1991. Since 2004, he has been riding a Honda Goldwing. He has reached absolutely every country in Europe, even England, Maroko, Tunisia, Turkey, and Russia. In 2008, he established GoldWing Club Bulgarai.
