Caday Rouge

Your accommodation at Caday Rouge is a beautiful stone manor house with a 19th-century Quercy stone cottage and barn dating back to 1862. These beautiful buildings are set within two acres of well-kept tranquil gardens nestling peacefully in the serene countryside on the banks of the River Lot.

There are various terraces around the house, cottage, and pool for outside dining and socializing during the summer season.

The saltwater swimming pool is 14 meters long and 6.8 meters wide and one meter leading to 2.5 meters deep with a one-meter high ledge all the way around. The pool is open between June and September. The pools large terraces are equipped with parasols, sun loungers, and seating for your comfort, enjoyment, and socializing. These are surrounded by beautiful flowers, herbs, palm trees, and hedges. No pets are allowed.

This experience is what motorcycling and touring is all about. It provides fabulous pleasures for a delightful and memorable motorcycle holiday you will never forget.

Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday

Arrive and check-in at Caday Rouge, settle in, relax and socialize by the pool and meet your new companions before your welcome meal.

Day 2: Sunday (200 kilometers / 125 miles)

This is the start of your touring adventure and today you head off towards Figeac through the Célé Valley visiting Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Cahors

Day 3: Monday (230 kilometers / 143 miles)

After breakfast you continue your journey with a visit to the remarkable and historic Rocamadour. After lunch, you head South to Château de Beynac before returning to Caday Rouge.

Day 4: Tuesday (210 kilometers / 130 miles)

You travel into the Dordogne, where you first visit the town of Sarlat. You then lunch in the beautiful bastide and fortified medieval town of Domme before returning to Caday Rouge via Chateau de Biron.

Day 5: Wednesday (250 kilometers / 160 miles)

You head towards Périgueux in the Dordogne for lunch before visiting the amazing and historic Château de Hautefort. You then make your way back to Caday Rouge via Château de Bonaguil.

Day 6: Thursday (200 kilometers / 125 miles)

Today's visit is to the Château de Monbazillac for the history of wine-making in Bergerac. You return to Caday Rouge via Issigeac and Monflanquin.

Day 7: Friday (230 kilometers / 145 miles)

Prepare the motorcycles as you head to the Pyrenees mountains and the fortified city of Carcassonne, for your first night’s accommodation within the city walls.

Day 8: Saturday (150 kilometers / 100 miles)

A relaxing start and after a fabulous breakfast you leave Carcassonne and head South to Andorra, via the beautiful towns of Limoux and Quillan, where you will stay in the Eurostars Andorra la Vella Hotel.

Day 9: Sunday (200 kilometers / 125 miles)

After another fabulous breakfast you will jump on the bikes and take in the beautiful sights and landscapes of the Andorra countryside and scenery, on some amazingly magnificent motorcycling roads.

Day 10: Monday (230 kilometers / 145 miles)

You leave Andorra and head West riding through various National Parks towards Vielha in the province of Lleida, where you will stay at a beautiful parador, a great days riding.

Day 11: Tuesday (200 kilometers / 135 miles)

Today you leave Vielha and head West riding through various National Parks to Jaca, where you will stay at the Hotel Eurostars Reina Felicia.

Day 12: Wednesday (220 kilometers / 140 miles)

Today will see you heading towards the lively town of Donostia-san-Sebastian on the Bay of Biscay in the mountainous Basque Country of Spain, spectacular.

Day 13: Thursday (220 kilometers / 125 miles)

You leave the lively resort of Donostia-san-Sebastian and taking the beautiful coastal route, head to Arcachon and the largest sand dune in Europe, the Dune du Pilat, standing at 100 metres above sea level and with amazing views.

Day 14: Friday (230 kilometers / 145 miles)

A casual ride back to Caday Rouge today visiting the unique and medieval village of Saint Emilion, located in the Bordeaux region and famed for its fine wine, beautiful architecture and great monuments.

Day 15: Saturday

Farewell and bon voyage, Caday Rouge is sure you have had a fantastic holiday and they would love to see you back here again for another tour.

Motorcycle hire and info

If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT, it may only be used during the tour days and whilst with the group. The motorcycles are not for private use.

If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT, a 600 EUR Excess Damage Deposit is required before any riding takes place. You must provide a copy of your passport, a valid driving license and an international driving permit with the correct endorsements. All original documents must be provided on arrival. If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT the mileage is included within the hire price.

If you are using your own motorcycle and a breakdown occurs, CRMT can return your bike to Caday Rouge. CRMT may also be able to assist in repatriating your motorcycle to some regions of Europe. A pre-determined date and cost can be confirmed subject to CRMT’s free time and when their tour season allows them.

If you ride a motorcycle in France, you are required to wear a safety helmet with reflective decals and you must wear protective gloves. If you hire a CRMT motorcycle, it is obligatory to fulfill these requirements and laws.

Skill level(s) required for this tour:

This escorted tour is suitable for competent riders with experience in touring and riding long distances and must be capable of riding the distances stated in this tour itinerary. Please note there are four occasions where you will be required to ride up to 300 kilometers per day. The remaining tour riding days are significantly more relaxed. Your riding capabilities must be able to fulfill and manage these distances.

Intermediate:

  • can ride for 3-4 hours

Location

You will start and end your amazing journey at Caday Rouge and will ride through South West France, Catalonia, Andorra, the Pyrenees mountain range and then into Northern Spain where you may revel in the Bay of Biscay. There is so much to see whilst riding through these three fabulous countries where you will be mesmerized by the fantastic scenery and sights.

Food

Caday Rouge includes daily breakfast as well as an arrival meal. They also offer picnic lunches and evening meals using local produce. Beers, wines and soft drinks available on request.

Please book your flight to arrive at Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (EGC). Transfers are available at 100 EUR per one way trip, maximum of 7 people. Please inquire for other local airport transfers, for example from Toulouse or Bordeaux.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.

Tour information

If you book the tour, Caday Rouge guarantees the tour will proceed. There is no minimum number required for any CRMT tour to go-ahead. For non-european permit holder, they must have an international driving licence with the relevant sections stamped.

If for any reason you have to cancel your confirmed booking with CRMT, they will endeavor to rebook your place within the group. If this is successful, they will refund all your money paid to date. The tour will have to be fully booked for this to take effect.
