Guided Motorcycle Tour in France

This fabulous 15-day small-group hub tour comes with all the frills and glamour you would expect when traveling the French Riviera and the Côte d’Azur. A certain ‘Je ne sais quoi’! Whilst on this tour, you will stay at the beautiful Caday Rouge chambre d’hôtes and other luxury hotels throughout the remainder of the tour. You will start and end your fabulous journey by staying seven nights at the beautiful Caday Rouge chambre d’hôtes. Enjoy a further seven nights in top-quality hotels in the popular seaside resort and port of La Grande-Motte, a further two nights near Grimaud and the Bay of Saint-Tropez, and the final night on the French Riviera will be near the magnificent principality of Monaco. The remaining three overnight hotel stays will be in Moissac Bellevue near the Lake Sainte-Croix and Verdon Gorge, then onto the commune of Fontvieille in the Bouches-du-Rhône department and Meyrueis in the Cevennes National Park.

This small group hub tour includes seven nights of accommodation at the beautiful Caday Rouge chambre d’hôtes. You will also stay seven nights at other superb quality hotels during the tour.

Enjoy your first night on the Mediterranean in La Grand-Motte, then onto the Côtes d’Azur near Saint-Tropez for a further two nights. Your fourth overnight stay will be in Menton close to the principality of Monaco.

You then head west for your fifth overnight stay near Moissac-Bellevue. You continue riding west to the quaint town of Fontvieille for your sixth overnight stay. The final overnight stay will be in Meyrueis in the Cevennes National Park.

Your accommodation at Caday Rouge is a beautiful stone manor house with a 19th century Quercy stone cottage. All the newly renovated bedrooms are all en-suite with private bathrooms.

Group bookings also have the availability to use the three-bedroom luxury holiday cottage with three double bedrooms and sharing two bathrooms.

These beautiful buildings are set within two acres of well-maintained tranquil gardens nestling peacefully in the serene countryside on the banks of the River Lot. There are various terraces around the house, cottage, and a large swimming pool for outside dining and socializing during the summer season.

Relax and enjoy a private large saltwater swimming pool after a great day of riding. The terraces are equipped with parasols, sun loungers, and seating for your comfort, enjoyment, and socializing, so all you need to do is order your cool beverage from the licensed bar and revel in the tranquillity Caday Rouge offers.

Program

Day 1 - Saturday

Arrive and check-in at Caday Rouge, settle in, relax and socialize by the pool and meet your new companions before dinner.

Day 2 - Sunday

This is the start of your touring adventure and today you head east to Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Cajarc. You then head north to Brengues to join the Célé Valley for some of the most scenic ridings this region has to offer. You will visit Cahors on your return to Caday Rouge – 230 kilometers / 143 miles

Day 3 - Monday

Your first stop today will be the beautiful Château de Campagne in the Dordogne. The scenic route will take you to the amazing and historic Château de Hautefort for an afternoon tour. You will then ride towards Perigueux on the magnificent D5 then head south to the beautiful Abbey of Cadouin – 240 kilometers / 149 miles

Day 4 - Tuesday

You travel into the Dordogne Valley and to the beautiful bastide and fortified medieval town of Domme and onto Château de Montfort. You will then visit the museum ‘La Rue du Temps qui Passe’ and the historic Château de Beynac – 200 kilometers / 124 miles

Day 5 - Wednesday

Today the tour takes you to the stunning villages of Penne d’Agenais, Tournon d’Agenais, Montcuq, Bélaye and then onto Château de Biron and Château de Gavaudun before your tour of Château de Bonaguil, a magnificent 13th century fortified castle – 170 kilometers / 106 miles

Day 6 - Thursday

You visit the 16th century Renaissance Château de Monbazillac. This furnished chateau has been a listed historic monument since 1941. After a self-guided tour, wine tasting of its world-famous sweet table wines is offered to all visitors. You return to Caday Rouge via the bastides of Issigeac, Villereal and Monflanquin – 200 kilometers / 124 miles

Day 7 - Friday

An early start preparing the motorcycles and heading towards the Mediterranean. You head through the town of Albi on the River Tarn through the Natural Regional Park of Haut-Languedoc, then onto the Mediterranean coast to your first overnight hotel stay in La Grand Motte – 320 kilometers / 199 miles

Day 8 - Saturday

After breakfast, you will head towards the Côte d’Azur and near Port Grimaud for your second and third overnight stays. You will enjoy the beautiful coastal towns of Saint-Tropez, Saint-Raphaël, and Sainte-Maxime with fabulous evening entertainment and cuisine this part of the French Riviera has to offer – 300 kilometers / 186 miles

Day 9 - Sunday

A deserved motorcycle rest day and a chance to visit some of these world-famous cosmopolitan seaside towns along this magnificent Mediterranean coastline. You can either stay as a group or you may decide to venture alone. Public transport is of the highest quality – 0 km

Day 10 - Monday

A fabulous day today as you visit Monte Carlo and the principality of Monaco. Walk around the legendary Casino and the Formula One racetrack. Enjoy lunch by the Marina, soaking in the sights of the amazing moored yachts and the magnificent top-marque cars passing by. You will then take a short trip to Menton for your fourth overnight stay – 200 kilometers / 124 miles

Day 11 - Tuesday

You leave Menton promptly for a fabulous day riding on Route Napoleon, winding through the spectacular mountains of Provence. You will ride the D6085 and D4085 to Castellane and then head into the Natural Regional Park of Verdon, also known as ‘The Grand Canyon of Verdon’. Your fifth overnight stay will be at Moissac-Bellevue in this fabulous natural park – 250 kilometers / 155 miles

Day 12 - Wednesday

You head west through the Natural Regional Parks of Luberon and Alpilles to the quaint commune of Fontvieille in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in southern France for our sixth overnight stay – 230 kilometers / 143 miles

Day 13 - Thursday

You leave Fontvieille en-route to the amazing Cévennes National Park and the commune of Meyrueis in the Lozère department in southern France. You will travel through the Tarn and Jonte Gorges making this a magnificent riding day with a variation of beautiful scenery en-route to the hotel and seventh overnight stay – 240 kilometers / 149 miles

Day 14 - Friday

Today you will be riding through the Parc de Cevennes towards the amazing Viaduc de Millau, the tallest bridge at 343 meters, higher than the Eiffel Tower! After lunch you will head back to Caday Rouge for a relaxing evening– a pleasant finale to your riding experience with CRMT – 330 kilometers / 205 miles

Day 15 - Saturday

Farewell and bon voyage, CRMT hopes you have had a fantastic holiday and they would love to see you back here again for another tour.

Motorcycle hire and info

If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT: It may only be used during the tour days and whilst with the group. The motorcycles are not for private use.

If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT: A 600 EUR Excess Damage Deposit is required before any riding takes place. You must provide a copy of your passport, a valid driving license, and an international driving permit with the correct endorsements. All original documents must be provided on arrival. If you hire a motorcycle from CRMT the mileage is included within the hire price.

If you are using your own motorcycle and a breakdown occurs, CRMT can return your bike to Caday Rouge. CRMT may also be able to assist in repatriating your motorcycle to some regions of Europe. A pre-determined date and cost can be confirmed subject to CRMT’s free time and when their tour season allows them.

If you ride a motorcycle in France, you are required to wear a safety helmet with reflective decals and you must wear protective gloves. If you hire a CRMT motorcycle, it is obligatory to fulfill these requirements and laws.

This escorted tour is suitable for proficient riders who are able to ride the distances stated in the itinerary. You will ride a maximum of 2,300 kilometers for the holiday duration. The tour riding days are good fun, very sociable, and start at 9 a.m. to maximize your days’ tour enjoyment.

On this tour, you will revel in the green valleys of the Lot, Dordogne, Célé, and Vézère. You will visit historical landmarks, monuments, and medieval chateaux whilst riding through the traffic-free roads of South-West France, enjoying its amazing green scenery.

You will ride to the Mediterranean and Riviera coast, exploring the regions of Aquitaine, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, the Provence, and Côte d’Azur as well as the famous Riviera coast cities of Saint Raphael, Saint Tropez, Fréjus, and marvelous Monaco.

On your return to Caday Rouge, you will enjoy Route Napoleon as you head towards Digne and the Verdon Gorge. You continue west through the Natural Parks of Luberon and Alpilles before you head into the beautiful Cevennes and the famous Tarn and Jonte Gorges with an enjoyable visit to the Viaduct of Millau in the Grands Causses Natural Park.

Whilst at Caday Rouge, CRMT offers wholesome daily picnic lunches. You will have lunch at some beautiful and secret places of natural beauty throughout these regions which allows you more time to ride and explore!

Evening dining is available at Caday Rouge in a beautiful restaurant where we prepare and serve superb high-quality home-cooked meals. Weather permitting and during the summer months, you may dine on one of the many terraces within the tranquil gardens of Caday Rouge. A great way to spend a lovely evening after a fabulous day riding.

The bar is available to all guests for alcoholic beverages including wines, beers, and soft drinks, all offered at a very reasonable price.

CRMT can offer an all-inclusive option that includes lunch, dinner, and all beverages throughout your tour. Please enquire.

The team can also offer a complimentary shuttle service using their luxury support vehicle taking you to local nearby villages if you prefer to dine elsewhere.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (EGC). Transfer from this airport is available upon request. The cost is approximately 100 EUR one way trip with a maximum of four people.

You can also book your flight to arrive at Toulouse - Blagnac Airport (TLS) or Bordeaux - Mérignac Airport (BOD). From these airports, you can take TGV train which links to Agen and connecting train to Monsempron-Libos, Fumel. Travel by train is a great experience and very reliable.
