The traditional rice paddies will be the main scenery as you ride up to the Cham tower in Vietnam and other sites that have a great historical significance. The Ho Chi Minh trail will then lead you to the thundering waterfall that will be your relaxation stop. For those who are ready to dive into the crystal clear waters of the rumbling waterfall, you will have a chance to enjoy swimming.

Your journey will then continue into the highlands and an inviting ethnic community that will be your friendly host. At the end of the day, you will spend the night in Prao after you have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Prao - Khe Sanh (180 kilometers)

Saying goodbye to the welcoming locals, you will enhance your riding experience through jungle and mountain trails of the Ho Chi Minh trail. Going passed ethnic minorities and distinguishing on stilt houses on the road to Khe Sanh, you will stop in Co Tu. Co Tu is another minority village of the Pa Co people located not far from the town of Ta Rut. Afterward, you will meet the locals, learn exciting facts about their life there, and aspire to travel through Vietnam’s most striking passes that will lie ahead.

The newly-constructed road is quiet and it will allow you to become a witness of its natural beauty and primitive forests which are so typical of the Truong Son mountain range. Despite the wilderness and majestic surrounding, you will be amazed by the serenity and peace of mountains, jungle, and famous Dakrong Bridge. Afterward, you will finally arrive at Khe Sanh where you will spend a night.

Day 3: Khe Sanh - Hue (160 kilometers)

Today, you will ride on Highway 9. This road will lead you to the famous Carol Camp which was active during the war with the Americans. This road will also take you to the Hiền Lương Bridge or Peace Bridge. This bridge is a significant landmark that carries a heavy history on its shoulders. It was built by the French in the mid-1900s on the borderline of South Vietnam and North Vietnam just before the Ben Hai River and the Here River.

Another strategically located site that you will also be visiting today is the Vịnh Mốc tunnels on the border of South Vietnam and North Vietnam. It was built to shelter the villagers during the American war bombing. The Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone has more sites of your profound interest such as the complex of tunnels. Right after your exploration, you will stop at a local beach where you can enjoy your lunch and catch your breath.

As you keep on riding along the coast, you will visit the Quang Tri citadel, a proud survivor of the 1972 bombing. After 81 full days enduring fierce bomb-attacks, this place still stands majestic. At the end of the day, you will stay overnight in Hue.

It is a great location offering breathtaking views of iconic landscapes and a view of Da Nang city.

As you drive along the Cua Dai beach, you will set off for some more adventures such as cave exploration at the Marble Mountains, visit the mountainous pagodas, and see handmade sculptures masterly made from passion stone. "Flamingo Travel is a great company with solid bikes and well-planned routes. Their staff is on call 24 / 7. They were there when I needed them and were very reasonable with the expected minor injuries the bike sustained at my hands. I took all the hassle out of having a great time in the mountains of North Vietnam. Thanks!"

"I'm from Germany and I read on the internet about Flamingo Travel. Because of all the positive reviews, we decided to try it out. They have 2 local stores, one in Ho Chi Minh and the other in Hanoi. Our first stop was in Ho Chi Minh to check out their bikes. They asked us which kind of bike we want to drive and how far the trip will be. Some of their mechanics were repairing some bikes in front of the shop. We made a test ride with the bike and I took some riding lessons with one of their friendly staff at a calm place, 15 minutes away from the shop. The next day, we started out the trip with the target to reach Hanoi in 4 weeks. A guide who is also a staff from Flamingo Travel helped us finding a safe way through the city. We had an awesome trip without any technical problems. But, we had to cancel the trip in Hûe because of some serious health problems. So, it was impossible to give the bikes back in Hanoi. After a short email conversation with Flamingo Travel, they managed to find a Vietnamese who was a partner of their shop and he brought the bikes back to Hanoi for us without any extra costs. I would recommend everyone to give Flamingo Travel a try if you want to have a safe trip and a company who is always willing to help you."

"I just spent the last few days doing a solo self-guide and off-road GPS trip in Northwest Vietnam. I hired through Flamingo Travel based on recommendations from friends back home who have hired bikes from them previously and recently. I picked up a Honda XR650 and set out on my way. The Garmin GPS unit is brilliant to use. The homestays were incredible. They were very lovely families who took me into their homes and made myself very welcomed. Because it is an adventure riding, I did come off the bike when leaving the village of my first homestay and the bike sustained a little damage. My home stay dad contacted Flamingo Travel and their only concern was my well being. He then took myself to the shop to have a new mirror fitted and then I continued my journey. Absolutely, the tour had no issues at all with repairing the damage when arriving back in Hanoi. The company is genuine operators who only charge genuine replacement cost for the repairs. Ms. Hung organized a Ha Long Bay cruise for me to rest for a couple of days at a great price. From my experience, they are an awesome company who have a very bright future ahead. Thank you, Flamingo Travel and I will see you again."
