Traveling by motorcycle in Morocco is discovering a country of great contrasts. The motorcycle trip to Morocco in September will take you from the Atlas Mountains to the dunes of the Sahara desert. This will take you on a journey through some of the most unique areas of the kingdom of Morocco.

You will stay in various accommodations arranged by GR11 Viajes along the route.


Day 1, Sunday: Marrakech

Arrival to Marrakech. You will meet at the hotel at 5 p.m. for the welcome meeting of the trip and picking-up of motorcycles. After this, you’ll go to the Jemaa-el-Fna square to enjoy the ambience of this unique place in the city.

Day 2, Monday: Marrakech - Dades (325 kilometers / 202 miles)

Your first day of riding in Morocco will take you to the south side of the Atlas mountains, crossing the mountain range trough the Tizi’n’Tichka pass. You’ll enjoy an unique ride in one of the most famous routes in Morocco! Already in the south side, you’ll visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, close to Ouarzazate, the desert “Hollywood”. You’ll end up in Dades. Hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 3, Tuesday: Dades - Tinehrir (200 kilometers / 126 miles)

Today is pure Atlas day! Leaving Dades, you will visit the famous gorges of the same name, at the end of the valley of Dades. Then, you will go back and head east to the Todra gorges, another of the highlights in your trip. Hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 4, Wednesday: Tinehrir - Merzouga (200 kilometers / 126 miles)

You head to the dunes in the morning, visiting the desert water wells on the way. You will arrive at midday. Free afternoon to rest or to do various activities in the hotel surroundings (quads in the dunes, camel trips, etc.).

Day 5, Thursday: Merzouga - Fes (470 kilometers / 292 miles)

You head north. Today’s route is spectacular: you cross the Atlas again from south to north, through the main road, with incredible landscapes. You’ll visit the Ziz valley, the Ifrane forests and its monkeys, and you will end the day in Fes, one of the imperial cities of Morocco.

Day 6, Friday: Fes - Beni Mellal (280 kilometers / 174 miles)

In the morning you will take a tour inside the famous medina of Fes, a UNESCO Heritage site. You will then head south to Beni Mellal trough some nice roads in the region of Khenifra and Azilal until reaching Beni Mellal, where you will have a rest close to the lake.

Day 7, Saturday: Beni Mellal - Marrakech (200 kilometers / 126 miles)

In your way back to Marrakech, you’ll make a stop to visit the Ouzoud waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in North Africa. You’ll arrive in Marrakech and you will return the motorbikes. You will have some time to explore the city before your farewell dinner!

Day 8, Sunday: Marrakech

The tour finishes today! Depending on your flight, you can explore Marrakech or, if you want, you can ask to extend your stay in the city to explore more!

Starting from Marrakech, you will travel south, crossing the Atlas to discover the beauty of Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades and Todra gorges, and the Middle and High Atlas.

The route will continue to the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi, in Merzouga, one of the most impressive places in Morocco. You will continue north, crossing the Atlas again and visiting the imperial city of Fes.

Back to Marrakech, you will visit the Beni Mellal mountain region and the amazing waterfalls of Ouzoud, the highest waterfalls in northern Africa.

This is a trip in which you will get to meet the most genuine Morocco, riding beautiful and selected roads along the most unique places in the country.
