During this tour, you will stay for two nights including breakfast in a four-star hotel in Milano, and six nights including breakfast in three or four-star hotels in the towns where you will stop during the tour, as follow:

  • Night 1: Milan
  • Night 2 and 3: Bormio

  • Night 6 and 7: Riva del Garda

Program

This is a tour for real motorcycle enthusiasts! You must be able to master switchbacks and very tight bends, especially if you will be sharing this incredible experience with a passenger. These mountains are often very steep and very high, not for those with acrophobia. So, start planning and preparing now to challenge 30 mountain passes in six thrilling days! This is a motorcycle tour you will not only remember, but will think about often for a very very long time.

Daily itinerary

Day 1: Milan - "Welcome to Milano!"

Late morning / early afternoon arrival is recommended. A private car will transfer you from the airport to the hotel where you will find your Hear The Road host and guide, waiting to give you a warm Italian welcome.

After you have put your luggage in the room and take a good refreshing shower, you will convene in the bar of the hotel for a “Meet and Greet” with your tour colleagues. Then, you are ready to go to pick up the bikes and bring them to the hotel garage. Back to the hotel, you will be given a general briefing of the tour and Hear The Road will be very glad to answer to all your questions.

Finally, you are ready to go all together to taste the “Welcome Dinner”, where you will learn more about what to expect for the next exciting week.

Day 2: Milano - Bormio (299 kilometers / 185 miles)

Let the adventure begin! After breakfast, you will leave Milan heading north and you ride the eastern coastline road of Lake Como. After a short stop in Bellagio for a lovely Italian Espresso, you cross Lake Como on the ferry before entering the Engadina Region of the Alps. Maloja Pass and Bernina Pass in Switzerland, Forcola di Livigno, Eira Pass, and Foscagno Pass in Italy is your exciting route to Bormio, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 3: The Stelvio National Park Loop (220 kilometers / 136 miles)

Today is the day that many motorcyclists dream about their whole life. Yes, today you are going to conquer the Stelvio Pass! Summit: 2,757 meters / 9,100 feet.

However, when you are in the heart of the Alps, it is impossible not to challenge all the passes that the mountains offer you. So here you are, ready to ride also the Umbrial, Ofen, and Resia Passes.

So, at the end of the day, you would have made a stunning loop that will allow you to tackle the Stelvio from both sides: in the morning you climb up from Bormio and in the afternoon from Prato dello Stelvio where you take the 48 mythical hairpins to reach the summit! It is very much like a giant roller coaster road that will take your breath away!

Day 4: Bormio to Canazei (235 kilometers / 146 miles)

You leave Bormio heading south towards Tirano today. The morning’s ride includes the Aprica Pass, the Tonale Pass, before entering Trentino Alto Adige where the Lavazè Pass and the Costalunga Pass are waiting for you!

Day 5: The Dolomites Loop (239 kilometers / 148 miles)

Next up is the incomparable Dolomites! Enjoy the spectacular landscapes, roads, mountain passes, and beautiful tiny villages!

The day starts with the ascent to Pordoi Pass where you take the Gondola to Sass Pordoi, the terrace of the Dolomites. The relaxing Gondola ride is over. It will now be a whole day of up and down the roads and passes of the Dolomites. Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Falzarego, Tre Croci, Giau, Fedaia, these are extraordinary mountain passes that you will take on, one after the other, till the end of the day. Mamma mia! What a day it has been.

Day 6: Canazei - Limone sul Garda (256 kilometers / 159 miles)

You say goodbye to the Dolomites and heading south, you tackle the San Pellegrino, Valles and Rolle Passes and then, through the marvelous Pale di San Martino, you reach the beautiful mountain village of San Martino di Castrozza. Back on the bike, you reach Marostica, a village so famous for its living chess event which is held in the main square of the town. After lunch, you ride the less-known dramatic road of Pian delle Fugazze, before arriving at Lake Garda.

Day 7: Lake Garda Loop (171 kilometers / 106 miles)

Today, you will fall in love with the colors and the fragrances of the Lake Garda. A day of pure pleasure: you ride the scenic roads of Monte Baldo with breathtaking vista on the lake; then, you take the ferry for a 20-minute crossing of the lake from Garda to Toscolano Maderno; then, you have lunch on a beautiful terrace facing the lake; then, you challenge the narrow Strada della Forra (The Gorge’s road) to Tremosine! What else?

Day 8: Limone sul Garda - Milano (202 kilometers / 125 miles)

Today, you will finish in style! From Lake Garda to lake Ledro, then to Lake Idro then to Lake Iseo. It’s your lake route that will approach you to Milano. At Palazzolo sull’Oglio, you will join the highway that takes you back to Milano. After returning the bikes, you arrive back at the hotel in time to freshen up before your final fabulous dinner together celebrating this wonderful Italian motorcycle experience.

Day 9: Departure day

Time to say, “arrivederci” to your new friends, collect the souvenirs and cameras, and pack the bags. After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the airport.

If you decide to rent the bike through Hear The Road Motorcycle Tours Italy, the following equipment is included: motorcycle rental with side cases, top case, tank bag, locks, and alarm. The bike rental prices include costs for public-liability insurance and insurance for any road assistance in case of break-down.

Please note that a deposit for damage, theft, and fire between 1,500 and 3,000 EUR is required for the rental bikes, depending on the bike you will rent. Each motorcycle has a damage deposit. This amount will be frozen on your credit card, but not cash. The deposit is your maximum liability for theft or damage to the vehicle. Please ensure that you have enough funds to cover the damage deposit on your cards.

Support van

The van will be carrying a tool-kit for small repairs. You’ll be able to leave your cases (one suitcase plus one handbag per person) in the van, as well as any souvenirs you pick up along the way. The van also has a couple of seats that passengers might like to use if they feel they need a little rest from the bikes!
