Daily itinerary

Arrival day: Arrival in Guwahati, Assam

Arrive in Guwahati airport / railway station from home cities, drive to hotel, check in, rest, shower, etc. Then, test your machines for they will be your companion for the next two weeks!

Day 1: Guwahati - Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh (290 kilometers / 181 miles)

Post an early breakfast, you head out on the open highway and then eventually start climbing the mountains towards Tawang. You break the ride for the day at Bomdila.

Day 2: Bomdila - Tawang (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

Today, you ride across the Se La at a staggering altitude of 4,000+ meters, reach Tawang and chill for the evening.

Day 3: Tawang - Bumla check post - Tawang (100 kilometers / 63 miles)

Highlight of the day is riding to the China border at Bumla check post. You then come back to sleep at Tawang by evening.

Day 4: Tawang - Bomdila (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

Ride down to Bomdila again, same way back.

Day 5: Bomdila - Kaziranga National Park (190 kilometers / 119 miles)

Ride to the beautiful Kaziranga National Park to spot the one horned rhinos in the evening safari!

Day 6: Kaziranga National Park - Kohima in Nagaland (270 kilometers / 168 miles)

Ride hard, ride long - today is a long day over some off roads which are called national highways in Nagaland. Relax in the hotel, take a stroll in the evening markets of Kohima.

Day 7: Kohima (40 kilometers / 25 miles)

Full day at leisure at the famous, most beautiful Hornbill Festival at the heritage village of Kisama!

Day 8: Kohima - Shillong in Meghalaya (420 kilometers / 261 miles)

Today is a long but easy day, as you ride on the excellent highways of Assam and Meghalaya. Shillong the capital city is also called the Scotland of the East.

Day 9: Shillong - Cherrapunjee (60 kilometers / 38 miles)

Today, you ride to the second rainiest place in the world, you get to click a photo besides the board which claims that!

Day 10: Cherrapunjee (25 kilometers / 16 miles)

Today is the day when you ride less, trek more, to get to the world's only double deck living root bridges and the stunningly beautiful rainbow falls.

Day 11: Cherrapunjee - Mawlynnlong (150 kilometers / 94 miles)

Ride to the cleanest village of Asia, if they can do a lot to keep it clean, so can you!! On the way, you see the cleanest river of India too, the beautiful Dawki river on which you see boats literally floating! Highlight is also the India-Bangladesh border check post.

Day 12: Mawlynnlong - Guwahati (175 kilometers / 109 miles)

End the ride at Guwahati, before you fly back home tomorrow. You may stay overnight in a hotel in Guwahati (booked by I Am Adventure, paid by you). Tomorrow, fly back home with lifetime memories of the magical Northeast of India!

The motorbike tour will take you exploring the Northeast of India, by starting and ending in Guwahati. It will cover Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Meghalaya among others.


During this tour, you will be served daily breakfast and dinner at gourmet eating joints on the way. You will also be able to enjoy chai or coffee and cookies twice a day on riding days (11 a.m. and 5 p.m.). Lunch is not included in the price, you will eat at dhabas along the road and pay directly there then.

You may choose to go on the fixed departure date if you are an individual. However, if you are group of eight (8) or more friends, then I Am Adventure can do a customized tour for you as well, the dates for which can be at your convenience. Please note however that the Hornbill Festival takes place every year from December 1-10 only.
