The accommodation is based on twin or triple shared rooms. You will be staying in Kham Duc, Kon Tum, Buon Me Thuot, Lak Lake, and Dalat.


Day 1: Hoi An - Kham Duc (150 kilometers / 93 miles)

You will start from the hotel and ride through the rice fields, stopping at the Cham tower and historic American war sites. You will then go along the Ho Chi Minh trail visit pineapple plantations and enjoy it, then stopping for swimming and relaxing in the waterfall. Then continue into the highlands to visit the ethnic minority village. Later, you will continue into the highlands where you can learn about the Civil War of Vietnam before 1975 as well as enjoy the breathtaking nature of the area. You will reach Kham Duc around 17:00 and stay overnight in the small town.

Day 2: Kham Duc - Kon Tum (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

Today you will depart for Kon Tum along the highway 14 Ho Chi Minh trail rider over 2600 meters high with sea level, beautiful scenic views, stopping for swimming and relaxing in the waterfall then along the way to visit other ethnic minority villages such as Xơ Đăng, Ba Na, Gia Rai, Jẻ - Triêng, Brâu, and Rơ Măm, to learn their traditions, customs, and cultures. Continue following the Ho Chi Minh trail to visit the Wooden Church (was built by French from 1913 to 1918), and Rong house. Overnight in Kon Tum.

Day 3: Kon Tum - Buon Me Thuot (225 kilometers / 140 miles)

After breakfast, you will leave Kon Tum to Buon Me Thuot, then continue to explore the daily life of Ba Na and Ede ethnic minority village, learn more about their cultural tradition, and visit "the Eyes of Pleiku’’ sea lake, rubber plantation. Then go to Buon Me Thuot and visit the Dak Lak Museum, stay overnight in Buon Me Thuot.

Once a rustic backwater town and site of a decisive battle of the Vietnam War, Buon Ma Thuot has emerged from its war-torn roots and grown into the bustling, sprawling, and relatively charmless capital city of Dak Lak province. It prospers from the spoils of the surrounding countryside, the fertile soil producing rubber, clay, minerals and coffee, lots and lots of coffee.

Day 4: Buon Me Thuot - Lak Lake via Dray Sap (120 kilometers / 75 miles)

Travel to Dray Sap waterfall (the biggest waterfall in Vietnam) for relaxing and for swimming, then you will visit the locals to learn how they process the coffee and taste the best coffee of Vietnam. In the afternoon, you will follow small roads to go to the Lak Lake. Stay overnight in natural Lak Lake where you can choose a resort or homestay with some lovely locals. Probably drink beer with them.

Day 5: Lak Lake - Dalat (165 kilometers / 103 miles)

In the morning, you can ride elephant or boat (not included with the price), to pass the lake to visit M’lieng ethnic minority village and then explore Jun village to learn more about the rural life of M’nong tribe about an hour. Stop on the mountain to see coffee plantations and beautiful nature, then head to Dalat and visit the Pren waterfall. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 6: Dalat - Nha Trang (135 kilometers / 84 miles)

Visit the flower garden, vegetable farms, Than Tho Lake, before leaving Dalat to Nha Trang. Enjoy Vietnamese coffee in the local café, stop over at K’ho minority village to see local people and waterfall before arriving in Nha Trang.

You'll pass rubber, pepper, tea and coffee plantations, fields of flowers set for export abroad, and much more. This area is also home to many sites of incredible national importance. Part of the famed Ho Chi Minh Trail weaves in and out of Vietnam in this region, and you'll pass by Charlie Hill and other war memorial sites. Dozens of Vietnam's ethnic minority groups inhabit the Highlands, and visiting with these people is an alternative to the heavily-subscribed treks through Sapa in the north.

There will be a surcharge if you want book a tour during the Lunar New Year period from January 22 to 29, 2020.

  • The surcharge for manual dirt bikes of 150cc and 250cc is 18 USD / bike / day and 30 USD / bike / day respectively.
  • The supplement for those who want to stay in single rooms throughout the trip in a group of two is 60 USD per person.
