All this while listening to tales of adventure and off-road riding tips from the incredible Jo Rust. You won't be disappointed in this adventure of a lifetime, a trip you’ll never forget.
The tour starts in the lakeside city of Puno where you shall spend two nights, enabling you to visit the amazing floating Uros Islands of Lake Titikaka. A boat trip is organized to these literally floating islands that still have a number of permanent residents. The afternoon shall be spent familiarizing yourself with the bike as you ride the shoreline of Lake Titikaka with the snow-capped peaks of the Andes in the distant background.
Traveling west, the ride will take you into the Andes crossing the 4,319 meters or 14,170 feet pass of La Raya before reaching the wonderful Incan city of Cusco built on still visible Incan foundations and referred to as the “Navel of the Universe” by the Incas. This is a wonderful day riding deep into the Andes and passing numerous local indigenous communities roadside.
South America’s oldest continually inhabited city, Cusco, is a treasure trove of Incan antiquities and has one of the finest Plaza de Armas in all of South America, bordered by colonial arcades with a mighty cathedral as its centerpiece. You'll spend a full day exploring this amazing city and dine at the incredible Fallen Angel restaurant.
Departing Cusco, you will ascend a long series of switchbacks before reaching the wonderful Sacred Valley dotted with enormous Incan ruins such as Saqsaywaman, Pisac, and the Quechuan village of Ollantaytambo with its massive fortress looming above.
This is a stunning ride as you follow the course of the mighty Urubamba River with the towering peaks of the Andes all around before leaving your bikes at Ollantaytambo and catching the train to Agua Calientes, the stepping off point for the legendary Machu Picchu.
Perhaps today, you'll have a defining moment of your ride. Nothing can prepare you for the splendor of the sight of the iconic “lost City” of Machu Picchu. You'll spend a half day exploring this magical antiquity with an included guided tour before catching the train back to Ollantaytambo, reuniting with your bikes and riding back to Cusco, perhaps enjoying a beer at the famous Norton’s Rats biker bar that overlooks the beautiful Plaza de Armas.
You will take a local flight to the river port city of Puerto Maldonado located between the mighty Amazonian rivers of Rio Madre de Dios and Rio Tambopata. Puerto Maldonado is the stepping off point for you to visit the unspoiled Amazon Rain forest.

Ride among the Andes today as you cruise off the beaten tourist track before reaching the rarely visited Espinar and your first taste of some dirt track riding, if it hasn’t been sealed yet. The busy street scene of Espinar is akin to the wild west. You will not see many tourists there.
You will hit the dirt roads as you ride towards the world’s deepest canyon of Colca Canyon near Chivay. Colca Canyon will provide you with the best opportunity to see the giant condors with a wingspan of up to three meters.
The riding today is again spectacular and remote with zero tourist traffic, a series of hairpins, and some high altitude passes. You will visit the famous Chivay Hot Springs noted for their therapeutic qualities and wash off the day's dust and dirt before a short ride to your accommodation.
You'll rise up early to ride up to Cruz Del Condor vantage point to witness the giant condors as they effortlessly glide up on the warming thermals seemingly meters away from our vantage point. Leaving Cruz Del Condor, you will ride among volcanoes and mountains through a spectacular desert landscape.
It is within these very mountains that the mighty Amazon River begins its journey to the Atlantic. You will descend from the Andes before arriving at Arequipa with the snow-capped volcano of El Misti looming above.
You will have a day to explore the beautiful city with arguably South America’s finest Plaza de Armas and visit the Santa Catalina Convent which was closed to outsiders for centuries.
The route from Arequipa will lead you to the coast where you will ride the stark, impossibly rugged, coastal road that clings to the mountainsides. You will spend a night at Puerto Inca surrounded by a moon-like landscape as the Pacific pounds the small bay. It is from this very bay that the Incans caught fish and relayed their catch, via foot runners, to Cusco in 24 hours.
Traversing more twisting coastal roads with the Pacific only meters away from the roadside, you will reach the macabre Chauchilla Cemetery with a collection of amazingly preserved mummies still with clothing, hair, and skin from around 900 AD. A short ride, further along, will take you to the “Riddle in the Desert,” the mysterious Nazca Lines where you shall enjoy an included flight over these lines.
