You will stay for nine nights in various accommodations including hotels and tents. The start of the trip sets the tone for the rest of the journey and the end of the trip is an intimate moment to reflect, relish, and basically have one big party. The properties Karma Yatri uses at various locations, that serve as start and end points of the itinerary, are unique and carefully selected.

The properties combine the best in hospitality that the region has to offer, great food, and the ability for you all to behave like a group. Please note that although Karma Yatri provides blankets and duvets, it is recommended that you carry a sleeping bag for added comfort.

You'll begin this Royal Enfield motorcycle tour in the gorgeous Banjar Valley in the Indian Himalayas crossing the technically challenging and visually stunning Jalori Jot (pass) to enter a distinct part of Himachal Pradesh. Tibetan Buddhism with a heady mix of Himalayan shamanism and the harsh remoteness of this region has created an ecosystem unlike any other in India. Centuries-old monasteries and towns for trading caravans, a geographical location between India and Tibet make the, “Five Valley Trail” one of the most captivating rides both in terms of landscape and in terms of culture.

The strength of human endeavor is visually evident as you cross Martian landscapes that suddenly sprout small villages that are more than a few centuries old. The ride into the beautiful Sangla valley with its apple orchards, blending into the apricot groves of Kinnaur. Mount Kinner Kailash, accompanies your journey as you cross into Spiti and its innumerable monasteries. From the spectacular Tabo (Ajanta of the Himalayas) to the humble monastery at Dhangkar to the 1000-year-old Kee, there are treasures lining your complete circuit.

The road can be your best friend or your worst enemy, so it is advised that you always ride keeping in mind of your safety, and that of other people traveling with you. Riding in a group is a great joy but requires elements of discipline. The terrain gamut goes from excellent tarmac to dirt, large stream crossings, steep inclines and declines, sand, gravel, one lane paths, mountain passes, and loads of dust.

The erstwhile capital of this region is a perfect start for your Himalayan adventure. Meet and greet the team. A short ride to introduce you to your bike.
