Accommodation

During this tour, you will be staying in various accommodations. You will spend five nights in remote hosteria / estacias, but all are en suite.

Program

You are free to ride Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego within the convoy, following the leader and with the support vehicle right behind you or you can ride ahead of the convoy (you need a device able to read and navigate the .gpx trail) and enjoy this adventure at your own pace.

In both cases you will ride the same road, fuel up at the same stations, eat in the same villages, and lodge in the same hotels. If you get a flat the support vehicle will eventually catch up with you and fix it in few minutes.

Day 1: Puerto Varas

Arrive in Puerto Montt and be transferred to Puerto Varas early afternoon to collect the bikes. You will then have the pre tour briefing and welcome dinner.

Day 2: Villa la Angustura, Argentina (185 kilometers / 115 miles)

You will ride out from Puerto Varas and cross from Chile to Argentina for the first time into the beautiful Argentine Lake District.

Day 3: Bariloche, Argentina (185 kilometers / 115 miles)

A stunning day's ride through the Argentine Lake District skirting lakes and mountains and your first taste of dirt roads.

Day 4: Esquel, Argentina (205 kilometers / 127 miles)

You will have tarmac or dirt option to the remote town of Esquel and the chance to visit Butch Cassidy’s hide away en route.

Day 5: Puyuhuapi, Chile (175 kilometers / 109 miles)

Back to Chile and on to Careterra Austral to a remote German settlement on the shore of an ocean inlet

Day 6: Coyhaique, Chile (140 kilometers / 87 miles)

Today you will go on a stunning riding on the gravel of Careterra Austral along the inlet and then climbing to Coyhaique, where a bit of luxury awaits you

Day 7: Puerto Guadal, Chile (175 kilometers / 109 miles)

Magnificent views, vibrant lagoons and the night staying in cabins close to the shore of the crystal Lake Argentina.

Day 8: Ruta 40, Argentina (295 kilometers / 183 miles)

A big day from the lake side across the Patagonian Steppe riding the Famous Ruta 40, finishing on a remote Estancia.

Day 9: El Chalten, Argentina (175 kilometers / 109 miles)

Ride from the Steppe to the Los Glaciares National Park and beautiful El Chalten.

Day 10: El Chalten Argentina (140 kilometers / 87 miles)

Today you will have a late start and and an easier day through the Los Glacieres Nactional Park.

Day 11: El Calafate, Argentina

This day is your day off to visit the three mile wide Perito Moreno Glacier either by boat or by foot and to take stock and relax.

Day 12: Torres del Paine, Chile (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

Ride across the Steppe to the Torres Del Paine National Park. Today, you will stay in a remote, simple hosteria for two nights.

Day 13: Torres del Paine, Chile

Spend the day exploring or riding the remarkable park and maybe visit the Milodon Caves.

Day 14: Cerro Sombrero, Chile (260 kilometers / 162 miles)

Today you will cross the Straits of Magellan, one of the most revered waterways in the world to Tierra Del Fuego - The Land of Fire.

Day 15: Ushuaia, Argentina (255 kilometers / 158 miles)

Ride across the island swapping from Chile to Argentina and on to Ushuaia, the most southerly city in the world.

Day 16: Ushuaia, Argentina (45 kilometers / 28 miles)

Ride through the Lapataia National Park to the end of the road at the waters edge; there is still time to get all your Christmas shopping done in Ushuaia!

Day 17: Tolhuin, Argentina (100 kilometers / 62 miles)

You will retrace your route back across the island to Tolhuin, visiting the Penguin Colony at Harberton en route.

Day 18: Cerro Sombrero, Chile (195 kilometers / 121 miles)

Your route back across the island offers a choice of dirt or tarmac routes returning to the shores of the Magellan Straits.

Day 19: Punta Arenas (165 kilometers / 103 miles)

Today will be a shorter day heading for your final night in Punta Arenas and your farewell dinner.

Day 20: Home

This is your last day and it's time for you to head home.
