Explore the most beautiful roads for motorcycling, lonely beaches, and feel the excitement of countryside´s wildness. In Lombok, you can ride to Kuta with its brilliant beaches and Bob Marley feeling, explore the traditional Sasak village, and have wild as well as romantic south coast off the beaten tracks. You can also see and experience the local people of Lombok while riding your motorcycle and living the wilderness here.
During this tour, you will be accommodated at a hotel with a pool for one night. For the rest of the tour, you will be staying at luxury camps facilitated with air mattresses. Basic shower and toilet are available. The first night will be spent on board the ferry.
This tour requires routinized driving skills, adventure, and flexibility. The motorcycle should be easily mastered on asphalt roads. Gravel and dirt roads, as well as easy terrain, should not be a problem for you. Furthermore, persistent driving is necessary.
The island's main roads are in a very good condition. Local tracks are partly in a bad condition but suitable for Enduros. There will be partly dirt and gravel roads with very little traffic (except Bali). Some parts of the roads are gravel, light sandy passages.
The tour requires a minimum number of 1 driver and maximum group size of 8 drivers. 2 or more participant will be escorted from the luggage car. When the escort vehicle accompanies the riders, it can accommodate bike passengers who do not want to ride all the time on the bike.
You start the tour from Motor Adventure Bali home base in Seminyak around 21:00. The first goal will be to get the night ferry in Padang Bai, which will bring you within 5 hours to Lembar on Lombok Island. Dependent on the facilities of the ferry, you will use a dorm-like room to relax or just lying on isolation mats on deck. You will enjoy the fresh breeze overnight and see the million stars. You will be provided with food and drinks on board.
As you will arrive quite early in the morning, you won’t face much traffic while bypass Mataram, the capital of Lombok. The sun will rise when you approach the tourist area of Senggigi and Mangsit. Curvy roads will increase the biker’s heartthrob. Beyond that area, you will have some short stops to enjoy the view to the stunning palm-lined beaches around as well as to the “infamous” Gilis.
Now, driving on a small coast road, you will pass small towns and villages as Bangsal (gate to the Gilis) and Bayan (gate to Rinjani volcano) which towers over you on the right side for a while. After a coffee break directly on the ocean, you will head east to the village of Sambelia where you will park your bikes to cross over to Gili Kondo by boat.
There, you will pitch your tents directly on the white sandy beach, collect some dry wood for your campfire at eve, and prepare your dinner in the shadow of some palm trees. It will be enough time to relax and enjoy the great view to the neighbor island of Sumbawa or going for snorkeling on the house reef.
The option of one more day at Gili Kondo would certainly create a Robinson Crusoe feeling for you. Relaxing on a bale (small traditional beach hut) or in a hammock as well as another snorkel session in the shallow water will make your day.
After rustic breakfast and watching the sunrise over the neighbor island, the boatman will bring you back to your bikes. You will have to drive some kilometers back following the coastline again to reach the road which leads to the highest pass of the island. The quite curvy road inclines from sea level up to approximately 1500 meters above sea level and provides stunning views to the mountains and valleys around. You will have a coffee break there.
Downhill to the south, you will pass later Labuan Haji on your way to the peninsula Tanjung Ringgit with its Pink Beach. Reaching the gate of that peninsula, you will buy some food on a local market for dinner, then ride via an unsealed road to your campsite for tonight, just above the Pink Beach. After pitching the tents again, you could enjoy swimming in the ocean. The day will end with a barbecue on the campfire.
On your fourth day, you will leave Tanjung Ringgit the same ways as you were coming, then driving towards Kuta in Lombok. The unique white sand beaches around this small town will be your goal today. Heading westwards, a small road will lead you along the southern coastline with its beaches lined up like pearls on a string. Here, you can enjoy the real motorcycling as the road conditions vary a lot.
In Tanjung Aan and the beautiful Bukit Merese, you will have a break to enjoy the stunning view of the blue-greenish glimmering ocean. Depending on the booked tour, you will establish your camp directly on the beach. Dinner will be barbecue again depending on what you could get from the market or you would have to get back to Kuta in Lombok for a homestay and dinner there.
After leaving your last campsite or homestay, you will feel the real spirit of biking while driving on rural roads in the beautiful countryside of southwest Lombok. Your first stop today will be in Selong Belanak to enjoy the stunning view. In the last few kilometers, you will have to drive on the main road to the ferry port of Lembar where you will take the ferry back to Bali. The last step will be the 50 kilometers (31 miles) ride from Padang Bai to your initial start where the tour ends around 19:00.
This motorcycle tour will start and end in Seminyak, Bali. You will ride your bike on the most beautiful motorcycle routes on Lombok. As the neighbor island of Bali, Lombok has the best snorkeling spots and palm-fringed beautiful sandy beaches that meet all clichés of South Seas romance. In Lombok, you will explore the area of Gili Kondo, Tanjung Ringgit, Kuta, and Selong Belanak Beach.
You will be served 3 times full meal and snack in between. If you like to cook together, outdoor cooking is great (not only "nasi goreng"). In the evening, Motor Adventure Bali offers beer, house wine, and other alcohol for a normal price.
Please book your flight to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Transfer from and to this airport is not included in the price.
