Scenic route off the beaten tracks which resembles the beauty of the bush babies, these trails are sandwiched between mountain ranges, craters and Maasai steppe. Mixed ecosystem which offers from the forest to semi-arid gives this route a unique experience of riding on challenging terrains whether its rocks, muds or dusty. Africa is a dream for many riders and we will put you on fast lane of riding efficiently on incredible diverse and difficult terrains, and this is what a true adventure riding is all about.
Your accommodation for the first night will be at Gold Crest Hotel / Hotel Tellamande / Nejoburg Hotel. For the second and third night, your accommodation will be at Maasai Giraffe Camp Site. For the fourth night, your accommodation will be at Farm House Valley. For the fifth night, your accommodation will be at Moivaro Lodges and Tented Camps. For the last night, your accommodation will be at Maramboi Tented Camp.
There will be a meet and greet from Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari's staffs. From Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be taken to the lodge to refresh yourself. In the evening, you will take the bikes for personal adjustment and trial. If you are flying with Qatar Airways, the plan will be well blended.
You will be taken to Arusha. It is a famous street for a dinner barbecue (vegetarian meals also available). On this evening, you will be given a briefing for the next day activities.
After dinner, you will be taken around for a drink if you are interested but if you are tired, you will be returned to the lodge for a rest of the night. Have your accommodation at Gold Crest Hotel / Hotel Tellamande / Nejoburg Hotel.
This ride can be taken on hardcore or easy route but the destination will be at Lake Natron in Kenya border. On the trail, you will be able to see wild animals and natural physical features to meet the awesome tribesmen (Maasai).
The ride will be 180 kilometers which 75 kilometers are on tarmac and the rest kilometers are on a paved road with gravel and dust parts. Your accommodation will be at Maasai Giraffe Camp Site.
On this day, you are going to start it lazily with late breakfast and you are going to ride for at least 3 hours. You are going to visit hot springs and flamingo breeding sites. Later in the day, after hot lunch at the camp, you will have a hiking to the waterfalls and enjoy a natural Jacuzzi. The hike will take 2 good hours. When you return to the lodge, you will have dinner under African sky with well-prepared barbecue.
This day, you are going to leave this area with memories. On the route out, you are going to visit few places such as Lake Natron itself, great canyon, and the hole of God.
You are riding 95% off-road and only 5% on the tarmac road to a small town called Karatu. You will have a chance to ride on Rift Valley Escarpment. This is safari hub / township and there are lots of movements here. The accommodation is at a fancy lodge and all meals are provided here. The accommodation is Farm House Valley.
Note: Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari can arrange accommodation inside the conservation area and the bike will be kept at the entrance gate.
This is a day off for early rides. On this day, you will use safari Jeep to go to Ngorongoro Crater for day trip visit. This is a typical safari as many people do; it is a chance of viewing many wild animals and bigger ones.
In the mid-day, you leave the crater and ride to Lake Eyasi where the hunters and gatherers live. On this day, you will visit one tribe. Your accommodation will be at Moivaro Lodges and Tented Camps.
Very early in the morning (05:00), you are going to leave the camp for the hunting trip with the tribesmen. The hunting will take 3-4 hours depending on what you get. After the hunt, you will come for brunch and soon after that, you leave for Tarangire Manyara Ecosystem. You will ride on Rift Valley Escarpment via Mbulu area. Your accommodation will be Maramboi Tented Camp.
After brunch, you will be riding back to Arusha on the highway with few loops of off-road trails for a close encounter of wild animals. At Manyara Ranch, it's an ideal place to meet elephants. This day marks the end of your tour. You can book your departure flight on this day, if not, Motorbike Safari Tanzania can recommend accommodations for the night.
Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari provides good quality protective gear and hand guards. The tour leaders are all trained in First Aid Response and Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari always takes a medical kit. Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari takes time to guide you and the tour leader is always available to advise you. You do not need to have a special level of riding skills to participate; the circuit is open for off-road learners.
The motorbikes are off-road models prepared in Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari's premises (Honda 250, 400cc XR). These bikes are light, maneuverable, and easy to ride, yet has enough power to ensure plenty of fun! All the bikes are kept in top condition and are serviced before every trip.
Karanga Adventure Tours and Safari has a dedicated crew and support car with VHF radio and satellite telephone linked in permanence to the organization AMREF Flying Doctors, where they can provide an aerial assistance anywhere and anytime.
It is possible to participate as accompanying passenger in a 4WD car on the same itinerary. The size of groups varies from 2 to 10 persons.
The age limit for the bike riders suggested is at least 15 years old to 65 years.
Alpha Malinda was born and raised on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in the valley of Karanga River. Karanga is a Swahili word which means groundnuts. Alpha is an exceptional guide. He has a vast knowledge enabling him to take clients from hiking Mount Kilimanjaro to wildlife safaris in the many fantastic parks and reserves. He has many qualifications including an Advanced Diploma in Wildlife Management as well as a certificate in basic trekking and anti-poaching skills from The Norwegian Trekking Association.
Daudi ‘MOI’ Sele was born and raised on the northern slope of Mount Meru. He is a well-experienced motorcycle mechanic since 2012 and he has 4 years of experience and knowledge as motorcycle tour guide. He has also been a bicycle tour guide and mechanic.
Khalifa Khalid is a self-motivated guy with high level of motorbike understanding who was born and raised on the North East of Tanzania - Arusha Region. Khalifa is a well-experienced motorcycle mechanic since 2005 and he has 4 years of experience and knowledge in motorcycle tour guide. He has also been a bicycle tour guide and mechanic.
