Nomad Motorcycle Tour Thailand

You will have the experience of your life riding your motorcycle through the curviest route up in the north of Thailand, going around the impressive Thai mountains and all the scenarios that come along with it.

Starting the adventure in the old city of Chiang Mai, passing through the Doi Inthanon - the highest point of the country - and driving after to the classic towns of Mae Sariang and Mae Hong Son to see the beautiful forest that will make the best views for you to enjoy the road.

Afterwards visit the Long Neck hill tribes and drive towards national parks to see both culture and nature to its maximum expression. Later delight yourself with the small town of Pai, its hot springs, the canyon and the night market before you can enjoy the 762 sharp curves before you can pump some more adrenaline at the shooting range on the way back to Chiang Mai, your final destination.

During this adventure, you will stay according to your selection, in single or shared double room in carefully selected hotels by Nomad Moto Tours.


Day 1: Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon and Mae Sariang (315 kilometers / 196 miles)

Get to know the magic of Chiang Mai while getting familiar with your motorbike early in the morning and then move full on to the adventure making your way south of the city to the national park and highest peak in Thailand: Doi Inthanon, 2,565 meters above sea level.

After having your local lunch, you’ll make your way to the city of Mae Sariang, passing through some smooth easy curves and the amazing views of the pine forests. Later on, you will enjoy an overnight stay in Mae Sariang.

Day 2: Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son and Pang Oong (335 kilometers / 208 miles)

Get breakfast and get ready to enjoy the second day adventure with a nice road ahead on the way to Mae Hong Son where you will get to see part of the history of this city at the World War II Museum. After that, make your way to the long-neck Karen hill tribes close to the border with Myanmar.

After lunch, ride on the way to the greatest temple of the city of the ‘Three Mists’: Wat Chong Klang and keep on driving north high into the mountain villages to get a pleasant night at Mae Hong Son’s hidden treasures national park, Pang Oong.

Day 3: Pang Oong to Pai (161 kilometers / 100 miles)

After breakfast, go further north higher into the mountains and visit Ban Ruam Thai: a little town with old Chinese architectures built during the communist takeover by the people who settled there.

Go back into the road 1095 and go to a bamboo raft through Mae Hong Son’s “cave with a stream running through”: Tham Lod Cave. Then, make your way through the nice asphalt twisty roads towards the old town of Pai where you will be catching amazing mountain views to delight the ride.

Arrive in Pai and get some authentic local flavors for lunch at a Thai restaurant and join later to finish the day with a visit to the old Pai Canyon. After that, you will be able to enjoy the night market or simply rest at the swimming pool of the hotel.

Day 4: Pai to Chiang Mai (169 kilometers / 105 miles)

There will be a morning breakfast meeting at the hotel to get all the information for the last day and prepare everything to start your final journey with an optional visit to the hot springs.Go to make your offerings to the “White Buddha” at the Wat Phra That Mae Yen temple.

Before the last road adventure takes place, you will have lunch with the autentic local flavors, afterwards you will drive through the World War’s II Memorial Bridge as the entrance of the 762 sharpest curves of the famous road on the way back to the city of Chiang Mai.

Make one last stop at the shooting range to release some more adrenaline before arriving to your destination in the afternoon at the Tha Pae Gate to finish the tour.

After the tour is finished, our team will bring you to your hotel or airport, according to the previous arrangement.

But if you get the nomad solo rush and you decide to go on yourself to explore different places that are out of the selected itinerary, you are totally able to do so. There is no pressure at all with the schedule and itinerary as long as you keep in mind to ride carefully and knowing that you might miss some very exciting things that they will have prepared for you and all the crew.

Please note that you will have activities with hot springs and swimming pools, so Nomad Moto Tours recommends you to come prepared for that as well.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

The easiest and faster way to arrive in Chiang Mai is by airplane. The existence of an international airport in Chiang Mai will allow you to get a flight from any country in the world and arrive directly to the old city. You will be picked up and dropped at your hotel of arrival or at Chiang Mai Airport (CNX) according to your choice.

Arrival by train

You can get a train from Bangkok to the train station in Chiang Mai which will take between 11 and 14 hours, according to the train you book.

Arrival by bus

You can take a bus from any place in Thailand and you will be able to arrive in Chiang Mai. If you take a bus in Bangkok, the ride will take approximately 10 to 13 hours.

Arrival by taxi / others

No matter where you arrive in Chiang Mai (train station, bus station, or airport), you will always be able to take a private taxi, a tuk tuk, or one of the shared red pick up trick taxis that you find in the city. It is very easy to move around in Thailand, especially in Chiang Mai, where everyone is so friendly and willing to help.
