Itinerary

Day 1: Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands (300 kilometers / 186 miles)

The first stretch will lead you out of the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur towards some of the best back roads in Malaysia which will be followed by a climb up towards Cameron Highlands on some of the best curved tarmac the country has on offer. Along the way, you will stop to see the Gua Tempurung Caves.

The first day will see you cover some 300 kilometers and gain 5,200 feet in altitude. The highlands are famous for their tea plantations, strawberries, and nature trails. All of which are on the itinerary!

Day 2: Cameron Highlands to Penang (260 kilometers / 162 miles)

You will leave the highlands after lunch and head from 5,200 feet back to sea level. You will have a mix of curvy mountain roads, highways, and the crossing of South East Asia’s longest bridge at 24 kilometers in length.

Nicknamed the “Pearl of the Orient,” Penang is famous for its soft sandy beaches and its vibrant nightlife. It is also fondly known as the food capital of Malaysia. Penang is a must-see destination while visiting Malaysia. As night falls, you will head to the party district for drinks, dinner, and some good music!

Day 3: Explore Penang

On day three, you will relax with a late breakfast and then head out to Penang Hill where you will take a train ride up to the hilltop for some 360-degree view of Penang Island. There, you will indulge at one of the many bistros for lunch. Those who are interested can ride to the beach for some swimming and water sports activities. You will end the night early after dinner at a rooftop revolving restaurant.

Day 4: Penang to Tok Bali (370 kilometers / 230 miles)

It will be the second longest leg of the journey on a road that is popular with motorcyclists for its winding path through pristine conservancy. The road will pass through the forest reserve of Malaysia and if you are lucky enough, you will see elephants, deer, leopards, and wild boars!

The road will take you from the west coast to the east coast which is home to some of the best beaches of the country. You will arrive at the resort in time for a barbeque dinner at the private beach of the resort.

Day 5: Relax in Tok Bali

Day five is all about relaxing as you take a short ferry ride to the nearby Perhentian Island for a day trip of snorkeling in its crystal clear water. You will have an early dinner at the hotel as you will have an early start the next day.

Day 6: Tok Bali to Taman Negara (415 kilometers / 258 miles)

It will be the longest ride of the tour. You will leave Tok Bali at the break of dawn and ride to the world’s oldest rainforest. You will have lunch at one of the floating restaurants in Taman Negara. Following which, you will take a speedboat ride upstream through the rapids to go see the aborigines of Malaysia. At night, you will go for the night jungle trek into the rainforest and the next day, to the canopy walk.

Day 7: Taman Negara to Fraser’s Hill (240 kilometers / 149 miles)

The first stretch leads will lead out of the rainforests towards open highways, followed by a climb up towards Fraser’s Hill on some of the best twisties. You will ascend to 5,000 feet before arriving at the classic English hotel.

Day 8: Explore Fraser’s Hill and ride to Kuala Lumpur (165 kilometers / 103 miles)

Fraser’s Hill is a mountain village in Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia, known for its highland rainforest and extensive birdlife. Several nature paths, including the Pine Tree Trail and Bishop Trail, cross the jungle terrain and shelter migratory birds like the Siberian thrush. The area also harbors Malayan tigers and rare trig oak trees. Activities that you could chose to do include a trip to the famous Jeriau Waterfall, paddle boating, visiting the strawberry farms, and trekking through the rainforest.

After that, it will be time for the last stretch of tarmac with Nomad Motorcycle Adventures. The ride back from Taman Negara to Kuala Lumpur will be a scenic route which has a mix of back roads and highways. As always, all good things come to an end and so it will be time to fly back home.
