Day 1: Luang Prabang - Pakxèng - Nong Khiaw - Ban Pha Yong (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

Today you will ride along the Nam Ou river where you will discover one of the wildest area of northern Laos. Mountains, jungles and tiny villages will lead you to a charming Hmong village. You will enjoy a night home staying in a traditional wooden house, the surrounding mountains still on sight.

  • Terrain: 20% off-road

Day 2: Ban Pha Yong - Ban Na Yang - Muang Khua (120 kilometers / 75 miles)

Today will be an off-road day. Ride your motorbike to explore the wonderful area of Muang Khua mountains near the Vietnamese border. Riding along the river, you will stop to visit a local Kamou village and their lifestyle. Local families will invite you to spend some time with them along the way. The countryside awaits you with magnificent views, the jungle, and the mountain summits will make you feel like you are flying above the clouds. The whole day will take about five to six hours, which gives you enough time to relax in the quiet atmosphere of Muang Khua in the late afternoon.

  • Terrain: 90% off-road

Day 3: Muang Khua - Pak Nam Noy - Muang Boun Tai - Muang Na Mor (210 kilometers / 130 miles)

Another wonderful riding day offers you new dirt tracks along the Chinese border. You will ride on the remotest roads of Laos where you will meet the Akha ethnic group who is still not used to meet foreigners. Keep your distance and don’t show up any camera, let your guide manage that, otherwise, villagers will all run away. The later afternoon is free for some beers.

  • Terrain: 60% off-road

Day 4: Muang Na Mor - Oudomxay - Muang Nga (135 kilometers / 84 miles)

The fourth day will be probably the easiest day of the trip but with the most stunning views. After three days of tough trail rides, you will enjoy this day that totally worth the effort because the mountain you will ride on offers wonderful views. For the last two hours, you will take a trail following the river and go down to the green valley of Muang Nga. You will meet several hill tribes like the Khamu and Lao Loum, living half-way in the mountain, compared to the Hmong who live in an isolated mountain, really far from the world you know.

  • Terrain: 40% off-road

Day 5: Muang Nga - Luang Prabang (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

Until the last day, the adventure does not stop. This day, you will take a wide track that will be for the larger part of the day and dotted with small villages living far from civilization. After lunch, you will engage in a narrow track that will lead you into mountains and river crossings and finally get back to the paved road out from nowhere. However, depending on your motivation and physical condition, you will have a choice of two riding possibilities for this day. Back to the road and finally get to the city of Luang Prabang, UNESCO city's heritage in the afternoon to drop the bikes and gear. The night at a hotel with a pool is included and will allow you to have a proper rest to tell stories of your lifetime adventure.

  • Terrain: 65% off-road

Note: Please keep in mind that your safety is mainly in your own hands and depends on your behavior while riding.
