During this tour, you will be accommodated at nice 3-star tourist class hotels with private shower and toilet.


Day 1: Arrival in Arequipa

You will arrive in Arequipa, the lively city in southern Peru. PeruMotors will pick you up from the Rodríguez Ballón International Airport (AQP) and bring you to a hotel. Your tour guide will give you briefing for the whole group about the tour and will arrange the necessary paperwork and the safety deposit for the motorcycle. Additionally, the rest of the day is at leisure in Arequipa, a very nice colonial city with a friendly atmosphere.

Day 2: Arequipa to Puerto Inka (410 kilometers / 255 miles)

Today will be the time to start your engines. Your first challenge is to get out of the city. Afterward, in about 50 kilometers / 31 miles, you will reach the Pan-American Highway and follow it northbound. In 140 kilometers / 87 miles, you'll reach the Pacific coast and follow the coast all the way to Puerto Inka. Here, you will stay at a very nice hotel in a unique location. Furthermore, you can find Inca ruins next to the hotel. Additionally, your tour guide will take you there for a little tour.

Day 3: Puerto Inka to Nasca (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

You will follow the Pan-American Highway northbound through one of the driest deserts in the world. You will make your way to Nazca, the world famous for its geoglyph and lines, only visible to the sky. In the afternoon, there will be a possibility to do 1,5-hour flight over the pampa.

  • Altitude: from sea level to 500 meters (1650 feet)
  • Terrain: All pavement (15 kilometers of sand if you go to Chauchilla)

Day 4: Nazca to Chalhuanca (361 kilometers / 225 miles)

Directly from Nazca, the mighty Andes will bring you to more than 4,200 meters where you will meet the llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. Here, you will start riding on one of the best roads for motorcycles in South America. The road is similar to the “Tail of the Dragon” in the USA, but it has hundreds of miles. Afterward, you will pass Puquio, a beautiful little village in the high Andes. Then, you will ride even higher over the Andes to Chalhuanca.

  • Altitude: from 500 meters (1,650 feet), via 4,500 meters (14,800 feet) to 2,000 meters (6,560 feet)

Day 5: Chalhuanca to Cusco (300 kilometers / 190 miles)

After an early breakfast and enough of ascending and descending, you will ride via Abancay to arrive in one of the most beautiful cities of South America, Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca's.

  • Altitude: from 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) to 3,500 meters (11,500 feet)
  • Terrain: All pavement

Day 6: Cusco

After breakfast, your guide will take you on the world famous walking city tour in Cusco. This will be a 2,5-hour walking tour through the city. The rest of the day will be to explore the city and its surroundings. Here, you can stroll its little steep streets, the Plaza de Armas, local markets, the cathedral, museums, ruins of Sacsahuayman, and much more.

  • Altitude: 3,500 meters (11,500 feet)

Day 7: Cusco to Ollantaytambo (80 kilometers / 50 miles)

From Cusco, you will ride into the "Sacred Valley of the Inca's". Here, you will visit a variety of Inca ruins. Some are well-known, some are unknown, but they are all very interesting. You'll end the day in Ollantaytambo.

  • Altitude: from 3,500 meters (11,500 feet) to 2,800 meters (9,200 feet)

Day 8: Machu Picchu

The absolute highlight of this tour is Machu Picchu. There is still no road to this magical place so, early in the morning, you will go by train to the little town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). From there, it will take half an hour by bus to the entrance of the citadel. After your visit to the ruins, you will go back to Ollantaytambo by train.

  • Altitude: 2,430 meters (8,000 feet)

Day 9: Ollantaytambo to Quince Mil (295 kilometers / 185 miles)

Today, you will go back on the bikes again. You will make your way to Quince Mil, a little tropical village on the east side of the Andes. The paved road downhill is spectacular, probably the best motorcycle road you have ever ridden. Additionally, you will stay in a little family-owned hotel in the jungle, with a relaxing atmosphere.

  • Altitude: from 2,800 meters (9,200 feet) to 650 meters (403,9 feet)
  • Terrain: All pavement

Day 10: Quince Mil to Juliaca (410 kilometers / 255 miles)

You will have another extraordinary riding day today, uphill against the mighty Andes as if you have to climb a wall with your motorcycle. The views are beautiful. After lunch in Macusani, you'll reach the city of Juliaca on the Altiplano, where you will stay the night.

  • Altitude: from 650 meters (403,9 feet) to 3,800 meters (12,500 feet)
  • Terrain: All pavement

Day 11: Juliaca to Puno (60 kilometers / 37 miles)

Today, you will have a short ride to the city on the shores of Lake Titicaca called Puno. This will give you the opportunity to visit the special Inca site of Sillustani. In the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise on the lake and visit the "Floating Islands of the Uros People". The rest of the day can be spent at leisure.

  • Terrain: All pavement

Day 12: Puno to Colca Canyon (315 kilometers / 195 miles)

You will have to cross the Andes once again, east to west to the Colca Canyon. The payoffs will be the spectacular views on the mighty Andes. You will end the day near the town of Chivay, in a very nice hotel with natural hot springs.

  • Altitude: from 3,800 meters (12,500 feet), via 4,910 meters (16,110 feet) to 3,600 meters (11,800 feet)
  • Terrain: Pavement and about 30 kilometers (19 miles) unpaved

Day 13: Colca Canyon to Arequipa (260 kilometers / 160 miles)

You will have an early start of the day because the condors won't wait for you. In about an hour and 20 kilometers / 12 miles of unpaved roads, you will reach Cruz del Condor in the heart of the Colca Canyon. Here, you can see the Andean Condor flying in its natural habitat. After the condors, you'll have to leave the city and go to Arequipa. You will reach the city in the afternoon.

Day 14: Arequipa departure

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back.
