Day 1: Arrival in Arequipa

You will arrive in Arequipa on day one, the lively city in Southern Peru. PeruMotors will pick you up from the airport and bring you to the hotel. Your guide will do a briefing for the whole group about the upcoming tour. He will arrange the necessary paperwork and the safety deposit for the motorcycle. The rest of the day will be at leisure in Arequipa, a very nice colonial city with a friendly atmosphere.

Day 2: Arequipa - Chivay

It is finally time to start the engines. To get out of the city is your first challenge. Then, in about 80 kilometers, you will reach the high planes on 4,000 meters. There, you can see the wild vicuñas carrying the most expensive wool in the world. After lunch, you will reach the highest point of the whole tour, on almost 5,000 meters. Then, it will be a beautiful descend to the Town of Chivay. Later in the afternoon, you can visit the hot springs.

Day 3: Chivay - Colca Canyon - Puno

In the morning, you will ride further into the deepest canyon in the world, Colca Canyon, on your way to Cruz del Condor. There, you can see the largest flying bird in the world, the Andean Condor, in flight. Then, you will cross the mighty Andes on your way to the city on the shores of Lake Titicaca, Puno.

Day 4: Puno - Juliaca

In the morning, you will do a boat cruise on the lake and visit the "Floating Islands of the Uros." On your way to Juliaca, you will have the opportunity to visit the special Inca-site of Sillustani, the old, pre-Inca burial grounds.

Day 5: Juliaca - Quince Mil

It will be a long ride downhill to the outskirts of the Amazon jungle. Then, you will be back on the bikes again on your way to Quince Mil, a little tropical village on the east side of the Andes. The paved road downhill is spectacular! It will probably be the best motorcycle road you have will ever ride. You will stay in a little family-owned hotel in the jungle with a relaxing atmosphere.

Day 6: Quince Mil - Ollantaytambo

You will be back against the Andes again, on your way to Ollantaytambo.

Day 7: Machu Picchu

You will be on your way to the absolute highlight of the tour, Machu Picchu. There is still no road to the magical place. So, early in the morning, you will go by train to the little town of Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo. From there, it will be half an hour by bus to the entrance of the citadel. After your visit to the ruins, you will go back to Ollantaytambo by train.

Day 8: Ollantaytambo - Cusco

It will be a relatively short ride from Ollantaytambo, through the "Sacred Valley of the Incas," to the ancient capital of the Incas, Cusco. There, you will surrender the motorcycles.

Day 9: Departure from Cusco

On the last day, PeruMotors will bring you to the airport for your flight back home.
