Day 1: Arrival day

A Planet Chopper staff member will pick you up from Charlotte Airport and take you to Planet Chopper's roadhouse in Woodlawn, Virginia. This evening you will have a big welcome dinner with locals and live music so you can experience a warm welcome from the team and new friends in Virginia.

Day 2: Woodlawn, Virginia to Asheville, North Carolina (176 miles / 283 kilometers)

No messing about, you’re hitting the road! You’ll be riding the Blue Ridge Parkway coined as "America's most scenic road." Expect rolling hills and banked turns and endless views.

You’ll roll into Asheville late afternoon to experience the town's music venues, historic artifacts, and microbreweries. You’ll try the “taster trays” from the town's best craft breweries and then head to a music venue for more beer and music.

Day 3: Asheville, North Carolina to Nashville, Tennesee (294 miles / 473 kilometers)

Today you’ll ride to the Wheels Through Time Museum with over 300+ rare motorcycles that are all running, you can ask the staff to start them if you like!

It gets better though, today you are going to the country music capital of the world: Nashville, Tennessee. If you haven’t been to Nashville before and you love live music, expect to have your mind blown. The musicians here are truly incredible and the music venues are iconic with the likes of Janis Joplin and Neil Young have played in venues on the main street.

Day 4: Free day in Nashville (0 mile / 0 kilometer)

Sleep in today and go explore the city! There is so much to see from the Country Music Hall of Fame to the Ryman Auditorium known as the “mother church of country music” or visit the Parthenon a full-scale replica of the original ancient building in Athens. Tonight you will be having dinner at an incredible jazz bar so be prepared for mouth-watering music and food.

Day 5: Nashville, Tennesse to St Louis, Missouri (309 miles / 497 kilometers)

You'll hit the road and heading northwest towards St Louis. This morning you’ll stop off at a family-run ma’ & pa’ diner for the best waffles in town. Next, you will go to the Chain of Rocks Bridge which was used on Route 66 as the main highway to cross the river from 1936. It is known to be one of the best-kept relics of the old Route 66 and is a perfect place for you to stop and take photos. Tonight you are staying in a historic building in the center of town.

Day 6: St Louis, Missouri to Des Moines, Iowa (392 miles / 630 kilometers)

You’ll head to Des Moines today and stop off at the American Gothic Site. This building inspired the iconic 1930 painting by Grant Wood showing a farmer and his wife standing in front of the building.

You’ll roll into Des Moines known for its gold-domed capitol building and bustling Downtown Farmers' Market. For dinner, you’ll be having a huge meal at Planet Chopper's favorite restaurant.

Day 7: Des Moines, Iowa to Sioux Falls, South Dakota (282 miles / 453 kilometers)

Today you’ll head out into the open plains of Iowa with timeless farming regions and midwestern grasslands passing by you the whole way. You’ll start to see a few other bikers emerge from different directions as you all come together in a giant group charging towards Sturgis!

Day 8: Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Sturgis Black Hills Rally (371 miles / 597 kilometers)

This is it, today you roll into Sturgis! Get ready! But wait, first, you need to cross the entire state of South Dakota from East to West. Great herds of bison used to roam these lands making it the ideal hunting grounds for the American Indian Lakota Sioux People.

Day 9: Friday at Sturgis Black Hills Rally (0 mile / 0 kilometer)

This is what you came for! Say hello to the world's craziest motorcycle rally. You are free to enjoy the weekend on your own. The Planet Chopper team will leave the bike in your care. Go for a ride downtown to take in the festivities, head off to see old cowboy memorabilia in Deadwood or even go visit the massive presidential sculpture at Mount Rushmore.

Day 10: Saturday at Sturgis Black Hills Rally (0 mile / 0 kilometer)

The party doesn't stop! Expect to see some madness in the campgrounds today as everyone builds up for the famous Saturday night in Sturgis. Expect some top-notch musicians to be playing with Willie Nelson, Mötley Crüe, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Def Leppard all having jammed here.

Day 11: Sturgis, South Dakota to Lusk, Wyoming (147 miles / 236 kilometers)

You’ll shake off the dust with a short ride to Lusk. You’ll take a few backroads to enjoy the curves and beauty of the Black Hills which is still a sacred site of the Lakota people. Lusk is a cool little town with one of the best burger joints in the state, the perfect place for a hangover meal.

Day 12: Lusk, Wyoming to Denver, Colorado (246 miles / 395 kilometers)

The final ride today as you head into Denver. Tonight is your farewell dinner where you celebrate your journey with a few awards over a nice steak. There will be plenty of stories to tell after this unruly Stampede.

Day 13: Departure

All great things must come to an end. You’ll be flying home as a true stampeder!


  • The minimum age of the participants is 18. The conditions of the professional indemnity insurance are such that Planet Chopper can accept anyone (including pillions) under the age of 18 years old.
  • A full motorcycle license is required.

You will start the tour off at Planet Chopper's roadhouse in Woodlawn and head to the craft beer capital of the US, Asheville before riding on to the "country music capital of the world," Nashville, Tennessee.

After that, you will start climbing north up through Missouri, Iowa, and into the great plains of South Dakota, the old Bison hunting grounds of Native Americans.

Shortly after, you will rock into Sturgis for three nights of madness. You’ll be free to ride to Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, hang out at the rally, or head to Buffalo Chip. After the rally, you head south through the famous Black Hills with their soaring rock formations before ending the trip in Denver.
