Day 1: Welcome to the metropolis

Get a first impression of Cuba and some information from your tour guide while enjoying your welcome drink at your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, you have the chance to discover nightlife in the old town of Havana and to enjoy dinner (optional) in one of the most beautiful squares of the historical old city center. Live music in small bars and cafés makes you move your feet to the vivid music of Cuba. You can go for a stroll through animated streets and alleys and can stop for a rest in one of the restaurants and cafés under the open sky.

Day 2: Test drive in Havana (50 kilometers / 31 miles)

After breakfast, you discover the historical old town of Havana and its culinary highlights (on foot). You get back to your accommodation afterward, change your clothes, and take your motorbikes. In order to get familiar with your bike, you do a short and relaxed tour throughout the less touristic parts of the city and get back to the hotel for dinner (optional).

Day 3: Throughout Sierra del Rosario (130 kilometers / 81 miles)

You take the broad esplanade and roadway Malecón towards the west. Driving through Miramar, Jaimanitas, and Mariel, you reach the low mountain range Sierra del Rosario and finally the nature reserve Las Terrazas. The entire route is asphalted; however, the road surfaces in the Sierra del Rosario are of different conditions and quality. It’s perfect for the enduros. You spend the night at “Moka” hotel or at comfortable and pleasant private accommodations in Soroa.

Day 4: Tour to Viñales (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

After the tour through the impressive mountainscape and over narrow streets, you get to “Cueva de los Portales”. This cave is fantastically situated and was used as headquarters by Ernesto Che Guevara during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1960. After a break, you continue your tour to Viñales where you can relax at one of the idyllically located hotels or at private accommodations in the city center.

Day 5: Discovering the environment (80 kilometers / 50 miles)

After breakfast, you discover the surroundings by motorbike. Narrow streets lead you to Moncada, a cute village west of Viñales. The burial places of numerous fighters of the Cuban Revolutionary War and of militia soldiers can be found here under the open sky. “Gran Caverna de Santo Tomás”, part of a cave system extending for kilometres which have been opened for visitors at the beginning of the 21st century, is only a few steps away from here.

Day 6: Towards the far western corner (250 kilometers / 155 miles)

After a short stop at cigar factory “Francisco Donatien” in the provincial capital Pinar del Río, you move on southwards towards Sumidero, one of the most beautiful routes of Cuba. A relatively good but little-frequented road leads you through picturesque valleys to Guane and further to María La Gorda where you stop for lunch. Afterward, you drive further towards the west, up to your destination Cabo San Antonio where you stay overnight.

Day 7: Back to the east (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

On your way back from Cabo San Antonio to Havana, you keep driving on Carretera Central, the most important arterial road running through the whole island from west to east. It leads you through Cuba’s main tobacco-growing area where you stop for a visit at the private tobacco plantation “Vega del Tabaco”. After getting some information about tobacco growing and processing and spending your lunchtime, you move on to San Diego de los Banos and enjoy a delicious BBQ on the terrace of a simple but clean hotel.

Day 8: Back to metropolis (160 kilometers / 99 miles)

On your way back, you follow Carretera Central up to Candelaria. You cross the highway, drive past over adventurous roads to Cabanas and Quiebra Hacha up to Mariel. You take the final leg via the coastal motorway ending in Jaimanitas. Driving on Quinta Avenida, you quickly reach Miramar and finally Malecón leading you back to the old town. After the return of the motorbikes, the transfer bus takes you back to the old city where you can review the highlights of the day during dinner.

Day 9: Time to say goodbye or time to enjoy some more days in Cuba

This day is at leisure. You may say goodbye or enjoy some more days in Cuba.
