Program

Ride in Tours will take you back to those times where you will walk in the footsteps of those who gave their lives for freedom, those who suffered the hardships, and those who conquered tyranny. You will see the famous WWII defensive positions of the Maginot line in Eastern France, the WWI trenches and cemetery in the plains of Verdun, tour to the beautiful region of Alsace-Loraine, which is now known for its world-class wines, and also the site of Natzweiler-Struthof, the only German concentration camp on French soil.

You will also see the famous D-Day beaches of Normandy where WWII allied forces overcame insurmountable German defenses, and experience the emotions of gratitude and humility during your visit to the US Forces Cemetery at Colleville, the burial sites of those who gave the full measure in the defense of freedom.

You will sip champagne in Reims, the true home of Champagne and stroll in the gardens of Giverny, which gave inspiration to the famous artist Monet. Your motorcycle adventure will also include two nights in Paris with time to experience the wonders, history, and beauty of the city of lights and create fantastic memories to last a lifetime!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Strasbourg

There will be a hotel transfer and tour briefing with the tour leader. Visit and dinner in La Petite France (old historic town of Strasbourg).

Day 2: Strasbourg - Saverne, 150 kilometers / 94 miles

For your first day, you will discover the Alsace region. You will stop at the Struthof concentration camp, the only camp settled in France. Then, you will follow the ridge road until the Dabo rock and also see the boat lift at St. Louis. You will stay in Saverne, a historic place and the birthplace of the Rohan family.

Day 3: Saverne - Saarburg, 180 kilometers / 119 miles

From Saverne, you will take some scenic routes and make a detour through the Moselle Valley. On this day, you will visit some of the most preserved parts of the Maginot Line built between first and second world wars to protect France from another German invasion.

Day 4: Saarburg - Verdun, 256 kilometers / 159 miles

After a ride along the Moselle river valley, you will stop at the American memorial in Luxembourg where Patton is buried. Then, through the twisty roads of northern Luxembourg, you will go to the Bastogne battlefields and make your way to Verdun through the Ardennes forest.

Day 5: Verdun - Reims, 140 kilometers / 86 miles

Verdun is the location of one of the major battle in WWI from 1916 to 1918. There, you will discover how was the life in the trenches and see the fort of Douaumont and its cemetery, one of the largest in Europe. You will also stop at the mill of Valmy, a high place in French Revolution history.

Day 6: Reims - Paris, 195 kilometers / 121 miles

To start the day, you will go through the most famous names of Champagne vineyards and one course stop and have a tasting at the worldwide known Dom Pérignon. Then, you will follow the Marne river all the way to Paris.

Day 7: Paris

It is not possible to go to Paris without spending a full day off the bike to discover its jewels. You will have plenty of choice between the classics; Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées, the Louvre Museum, Montmartre, and so much more. Your guide will provide you all the useful tips to enjoy the city of lights.

Day 8: Paris - Honfleur, 218 kilometers / 135 miles

You leave Paris following the Seine river and stop at La Roche-Guyon and, of course, the Fondation Monet in Giverny, which is the one not to be missed. Then, through the meander of the Seine river, you will reach the 18th-century harbor of Honfleur.

Day 9: Honfleur - Carentan, 150 kilometers / 94 miles

After a beautiful ride on the coast passing all the famous sea resort and a stop at Deauville, you will enter into D-Day area where you will have the opportunity to see all the major places; Pegasus Bridge, Arromanches artificial harbor, Omaha Beach and its museum, Colleville cemetery, the Pointe du Hoc, Utah Beach, and Sainte-Mère-Église where you will have a farewell dinner.

Day 10: Departure day

Depart from Carentan to Paris.
