Join this 7-day motorbike tour with Ride Wild Cambodia. You will be traveling to Takéo town on a scenic and mainly paved road, snaking along the Mekong River. Besides that, you will visit a few sites including a sarus crane wetland conservation project in the season which you can spot the endangered sarus crane, the tallest standing bird in the world. Come and experience this wonderful sightseeing tour of the breathtaking landscape!
During this tour, you will be accommodated at hotels, guesthouses, or homestays provided by Ride Wild Cambodia. You will be able to choose between a single or a double room.
After a short introduction to the mighty FTR, you will start traveling to Takéo Town on a scenic and mainly paved road, snaking along the Mekong River. On the way, you will visit the temples of Phnom Chisor and Phnom Da.
Phnom Da is a small pre-Angkorian temple, built by King Rutravarman, who reigned during the Nokor Phnom period. It is said to be the first temple built in Cambodia. The sceneries from the top of the mount are a nice bonus, especially in the rainy season (July - November). From here, you will put yourself and the bikes on a boat and cruise to Takéo Town where you will spend the night. On your first day, you will be riding for about five hours.
Traveling from Takéo to Kep, you will visit a few sites including a sarus crane wetland conservation project, in the season which you can spot the endangered sarus crane, the tallest standing bird in the world! The Kampong Trach caves and lake is a former stronghold of the Khmer Rouge. Black pepper plantations, Kampot province is known for its award-winning black pepper.
Kep town used to be the jewel of French colonial era and has some unique energy to it. You will spend the night here after a dinner at the famous 'crab market'. You will ride for about three hours.
You will quickly cross Kampot town and climb the Bokor Mountain and hill station (in the saddle of the motorcycle). Here, you can have a glimpse at the pick of the French colonial time, a mountain luxury resort and retreat for colonial residents in the early 1920s. After a good look at the view, you will roll down the mountain and visit the Stung Hav Temple.
From the Stung Hav Temple, you will ride straight to the beach town and main port of Cambodia, Sihanoukville (the town of King Sihanouk) or Kampong Som. Here, you will have a free evening to explore the nightlife in this town. You will be on the road for about five hours.
After breakfast, you will hit the waters for a full day of a snorkeling island tour with a pleasant island BBQ. Free evening. You will ride for about four hours.
Today, you will take the Ream National Park route to the Ream National Park, relatively unknown spot. Here, you will do some walks in the park, see a waterfall, and enjoy some excellent coastline at the 'secret beach'. You will sleep at only 5 minutes from the water. You will be on the road for about
Traveling to Kampot on what Ride Wild Cambodia likes to call 'the mangrove trail' is a very nice experience. In Kampot, you will enjoy a sunset cruise and then a free evening to explore the town. You will be on teh road for about five hours.
Your last day on the FTR will take you back to Phnom Penh using NR 3. This is a short ride of 3 hours. This evening, you will party till the light of dawn! You will ride for about three hours.
