Guided Russian Motorcycle Tour

This will be an exciting motorcycle tour from Moscow to the northern regions of Russia, to St. Petersburg and Karelia Republic with visiting several cities of the Golden Ring, tasting local food, good and sometimes not very good secondary roads, barbecue, Russian sauna (banya), swimming in the lakes and visiting museums and UNESCO world heritage sights. This is a pure riding tour with just few days of rest. You will see small towns and villages and both Russia’s capitals, highways, and small rural roads, there will be city walking tours and boat trips to islands in the Ladoga and Onega Lakes.

Your accommodations will be three to four-star hotels. All rooms are based on double or twin occupancy. However, if you prefer, you can have a private single room with 450 EUR extra.


Day 1: Moscow, arrival

Getting bikes, signing papers, meeting team and welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 2: Moscow, rest day

Half a day walking tour plus small preparations for the tour. This day we also exchange money, buy a local sim card, pack luggage and other staff. Team dinner in the evening.

Day 3: Moscow - Seliger / Valday (420 kilometers / 261 miles)

With secondary roads, you leave Moscow and ride to the Valday National Park and Seliger Lakes. Today after a big city you have some rest in the national park.

Day 4: Seliger - Novgorod (330 kilometers / 205 miles)

More secondary roads, small villages, and towns. In the end, you reach Novgorod, one of the oldest cities in Russia, which is 1155 years old. You walk to the Kremlin and after have dinner at one of the restaurants on the bank of the Volkhov River.

Day 5: Novgorod - St. Petersburg (250 kilometers / 155 miles)

Saint-Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Marvelous palaces, churches and cathedrals, small streets and canals, Neva River, and Baltic Sea. You reach the city and go for a city tour. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the Vodka Museum.

Day 6: St. Petersburg, rest day

Full day city tour. You will visit Peterhof, Hermitage, Savior on Blood Cathedral and many other sights. Free time in the evening.

Day 7: St. Petersburg - Sortavala (280 kilometers / 174 miles)

Heading to the north, you will reach Karelia Republic today. There will be 5 to 7 kilometers of gravel road and after that fantastic 70 kilometers of roads with ups and downs, turns, and great views. Today you stay in Sortavala in the hotel complex on the Ladoga Lake. If the weather is good, you make a boat trip to Valaam Monastery. Russian sauna and tasty dinner in the evening.

Day 8: Sortavala - Petrozavodsk (350 kilometers / 217 miles)

One more great riding day to the capital of the Republic of Karelia. Today you will reach Petrozavodsk and straight from the bike just into the boat to see Kizhi, a unique wooden museum complex in the middle of another big lake with old wooden houses and churches.

Day 9: Petrozavodsk - Vitegra (250 kilometers / 155 miles)

Late departure and road to Vitegra, a small town where tomorrow you will have a rest day. In the evening, you cook Russian barbecue and have free time.

Day 10: Vitegra, rest day

Half a day city tour, free time in the evening.

Day 11: Vitegra - Vologda (320 kilometers / 199 miles)

Heading back to Moscow in the last days, you will visit several cities of the Golden Ring, for example, Vologda. It is a traditional small town with a very quiet way of life, small streets, old buildings, cozy restaurants, and nice people.

Day 12: Vologda - Yaroslavl (250 kilometers / 155 miles)

Yaroslavl is considered to be the most beautiful city of the Golden Ring. All area of its center is considered to be a UNESCO Heritage site.

Day 13: Yaroslavl - Moscow (380 kilometers / 236 miles)

In the last riding day, you reach Moscow after making plenty of stops on the way in different towns along the Volga River. In Sergiev Posad, you stop in the famous Sergieva Lavra.

Day 14: Moscow, departure

This is the end of your holiday in Russia.

This tour takes place in Russia. Starting in Moscow, the tour will head for Seliger / Valday, Velikiy Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Sortavala, Petrozavodsk, Viterga, Vologda, Yaroslavl, and back to Moscow.


Breakfasts on all days will be provided. Additionally, lunches and dinners will be served for you during riding days.
