Nights 3 and 4 in the national park are in "rustic" style accommodation – taking advantage of the stunning surroundings. All other accommodation is of a high standard (four-star) with air-conditioning. Rooms are shared on a twin basis so perfect for traveling as friends / a couple.

Program

Starting and finishing in Chiang Mai, The Tuk Tuk Club takes you on a journey through some of Chiang Mai’s most spectacular scenery, lets you stay in some great locations and puts you in touch with fascinating local communities. Winding mountain roads, towering forests, elephants, waterfalls, fascinating villages, all topped off with great food every evening. You really haven’t "done" Thailand until you’ve "done" The Tuk Tuk Club.

Itinerary

Day 1 (around 40 kilometers / 25 miles)

Pick up from Chiang Mai, transfer to Mae Wang. Enjoy Tuk Tuk training and temple blessing!

Day 2 (around 75 kilometers / 46 miles)

More Tuk Tuk training and exploring the local area. A visit to a fantastic elephant home where you can walk with and help bathe the elephants and, finally, bamboo rafting down the local river. What a day!

Day 3 (85 to 95 kilometers / 53 to 59 miles)

Drive your Tuk Tuk through incredible mountain roads and passes to Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain at over 2,500 meters. Words can’t really do justice to the adventure today.

Day 4 (no driving)

Explore the forest in the foothills of Doi Inthanon as you trek to stunning waterfalls, learn about the forest itself and then walk back through a fascinating hill tribe village.

Day 5

It’s time to say farewell to your Tuk Tuk and transfer by private minivan back to Chiang Mai city, arriving around midday.

This trip is for anyone who wants to see the "real" Thailand from a different perspective and be amongst the first people to take part in this sort of travel in Thailand.

You can bring your friends or family on this trip. However, The Tuk Tuk Club can’t allow travelers younger than seven years old (and of course they can’t drive) but you can "comfortably" fit a family of four in your Tuk Tuk.

Traveling solo is totally fine. What better way to make friends than on an adventure like this? You can share a Tuk Tuk and will "room" with another solo traveler of the same gender throughout the adventure.

Don't worry if you feel you've got no sense of adventure. Everyone’s got a sense of adventure even if it’s hidden away. Why not join this trip and find your inner adventurer?
