On this tour, you will get the chance to appreciate the beauty of untouched land where nature takes center stage. This motorcycle tour with Tony Bike Centre will introduce to you all that is special about Spiti Valley. Enjoy the many different landscapes as you ride the route prepared for your pleasure. Your accommodations will be on twin / triple sharing bases in standard hotels / tents / camps starting from Day 1 at Chandigarh till night stay at Shimla. Double room will be given only to married couples.

Program

DAY 0: Delhi

Day 0 is a very important day as the group gets the briefing on the entire tour. The riders are introduced to each other and are allowed to ask any of their queries to the tour leader. Do’s and don’ts are not to missed by anyone as the tour which you have chosen is not a visit to a hill station, it’s Spiti and it’s different.

Day 1: New Delhi - Solan (296 kilometers / 184 miles / 7 hours)

Starting the ride early morning from Delhi and riding towards Solan will be a refreshing experience for riders. On the first day's ride just a few kilometers away from Delhi, bikers will find themselves on a highway which has green fields on both sides. You will be crossing Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana. Your stay will be in a hotel in Solan.

Day 2: Solan - Rampur (65 kilometers / 40 miles / 3 hours)

Early morning, you start the ride towards Rampur. The entire ride is uphill. The view of mountains is amazing throughout the ride.

Day 3: Rampur - Kalpa / Chitkul (97 kilometers / 60 miles / 4 hours)

After breakfast, you will leave for Kalpa, the headquarter of Kinnaur District. The ride will be with river Sutlej flowing along the road for a few kilometers. You wiill reach Kapla by early afternoon. Check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the enticing valley.

Gaze at the sacred Kinner Kailash Peak clearly visible from Kalpa. This route has road constructions going on. From Kalpa, one can see the peak of the holy mountain of Kinner Kailash. There will be an additional 21 kilometers added to the ride if you want to go to Chitkul.

Day 4: Kalpa - Nako (100 kilometers / 62 miles / 5 hours)

After breakfast, you will ride towards Nako. It’s a very quiet place and has a lake as well. One can visit the lake and for the rest of the day, you can explore the ancient village of Nako. This village will take you to the past as it’s so natural and quiet.

Day 5: Nako - Kaza (111 kilometers / 69 miles / 5 hours)

Today you will proceed towards the capital city of Spiti, that is Kaza. Spellbound scenic natural beauty starts from this point onwards. The real adventure begins from here. On the way, you will cross Tabo.

Day 6: Kaza

Today is a free day. If you wish, then early morning after breakfast one can go to the local markets of Kaza for shopping. You can relax in the hotel or if, health and energy allows, then one can visit the 1,000-year old Key Monastery, Kibber, the world’s highest inhabitant village, and you can also go to Langza Village.

Day 7: Kaza - Chandra Taal (100 kilometers / 62 miles / 5 hours)

After breakfast, the ride starts towards Chandra Taal. The lake is situated at an altitude of 4,250 meters. On the way to Chandra Taal Lake, the ride will cross through remote villages of Spiti Valley – Rangric, Pangmo, Hall, Kito, and Losar.

After Losar, you will reach Kunzum Pass (altitude: 4,600 meters). Kunzum Pass has the Chandra Bhaga mountain range around it and it’s also the inhabitant place of snow leopards. After crossing Kunzum, the ride will reach Chandra Taal. After some rest, if, energy allows then you can explore the area around the lake.

Day 8: Chandra Taal - Manali (120 kilometers / 75 miles / 7 hours)

Today you will ride towards Manali and you will cross the Rohtang Pass (altitude: altitude 3,878 meters). The road is a challenging one. After Rohtang, the ride towards Manali is a downhill ride with lush green mountains and waterfalls all the way down.

Day 9: Manali - Chandigarh (340 kilometers / 211 miles / 8 hours)

Today the ride will start a little early towards Chandigarh. It’s a complete downhill ride. You will be crossing Kullu, Mandi, Pando Dam, and many small villages on the way. You will reach Chandigarh by early evening.

Day 10: Chandigarh - Delhi (238 kilometers / 148 miles / 5 hours)

After early breakfast the ride starts towards Delhi. You will reach Delhi in early afternoon. The tour concludes today and riders can fly back to their sweet home.

Motorcycle information: rental bike package

  • Rental bike is included from Delhi to Delhi (as per the package)
  • Fuel for the complete tour (as per package)
  • Bikes will not be given for free rides beyond the fixed itinerary. They are given destination to destination.

Mandatory

No rider will be allowed to do the ride without proper riding gears. Tony Bike Centre has the authority to cancel the ride of a rider if, he/she is not wearing proper riding gears. No risk can be taken on these world’s toughest roads.

Location

The places to be covered during the tour includes Delhi, Solan, Kalpa / Chitkul, Nako, Kaza, Chandertal, Manali, and Chandigarh. The highlights will be found in Spiti.

Spiti

Spiti is one of the most natural, untouched beauty of Himalayas. The virgin mountain ranges of Spiti Valley will leave you all speechless. It has the calmness of Chandra Taal Lake and the roughness of its arid and rough off-roads.

This tour will cover all landscapes with different physical qualities. The Kumzum Pass, the Langza Village, Chandra Taal, Kaza, Naka, Khibber, and Sarahan all have their own specialties and attractions but one thing in common is the tough roads which connects them and their ancient history. So bikers let’s start the expedition to Spiti Valley, the real treat for a biker.

Food

The food included are breakfast and dinner from Day 1 dinner at Chandigarh till breakfast on Day 10. All meals are in the hotel where you stay or at eating joints on the way and may not be in major towns where people prefer to have platters according to their personal tastes.

  • No airport, railway station, or bus stand pick up or drop
  • Any kind of state fees, parking, tolls, traffic fines for bikes, or any local people charging entry fees to any place
  • Any kind of personal expenditure such as tips, extra meals, alcohol, mineral water, laundry, optional tours, medical expenses, phone calls, entrance fees to monuments / forts / monasteries, camera fees, guide fees, etc.
  • Any kind of personal, accidental, or medical insurance
  • In case of any natural calamity, landslides, road blockage, etc., if the tour is extended or the itinerary has to be changed then any extra cost which occurs beyond control will be charged on your side
  • It’s an adventure ride full of challenges and unpredictable weather conditions. Some areas are also political tensed so because of any such natural or human made calamity if, the tour is extended / diverted or terminated before the ending date then in such case Tony Bike Centre or their associated partners / hotel owners / cab owners will not be responsible for it and any additional cost that has to be paid by you
