Trail Rides Wales provide trail motorcycling in the remote and scenic mountains and valleys of Mid Wales. No offroad experience necessary; trails are roads!
Colin has been riding motorbikes for many years and has been teaching off-road motorbike riding for 20 years. In the past, he has competed in road racing, motocross and enduros. He still does the occasional trail bike rally. He has worked for the Yamaha Off-Road Experience and E T James, the KTM dealer in Rhayader. He enjoys touring on his Moto Guzzi Stelvio, and shorter rides on his Benelli Tornado Tre. He is restoring an Alfa Romeo GTV1750 and Morini Kanguro, so you can gather he likes Italian!
Marianne has been riding motorbikes for many years, both solos and sidecars. As well as guiding the trail riding tours, she rides on the road and owns three racing sidecars: a pre-injection Baker Thundercat, a 500cc continental grass track outfit and an enduro sidecar.
"Fantastic experience, wonderful people"
The trail experience exceeded my expectations. All equipment is provided and is reasonable quality. The trails range from simple beginner tracks to move advanced and then quite technical. Marrianne knows how to judge your skill level and provides instructions and experience to help you through. While I found some trails tested my nerves, I got through them all without mishaps. I used a GoPro to record most of the event and many of the helmets have GoPro mounts fitted by previous riders. The bikes are available each day and I rode to a local pub for dinner and wifi.
