See moose, ducks, fox, beavers, and local birds on the new Honda ATV’s. Experience wildlife on the comfortable ATV’s Trinity Eco Tours has selected for this ATV tour. It is exhilarating to experience the trails and tracks all throughout Newfoundland on the Trailway system (the old abandoned railway track that crosses the entire island). Trinity Eco Tours will provide an authentic Newfoundland boil up of tea and sandwiches along the way with a fire and a relaxing chat of the experiences of ATV tours.

Trinity Eco Tours is located on Church street across from the Trinity Historical Museum and next door to the historic Saint Paul’s Church. The building is in the center of all attractions in Trinity. This home was originally built in the 19th century and has been completely restored while trying to maintain the original integrity of the home.

Trinity Eco Tours has six rooms available for booking. Each is named for different whales seen in Newfoundland. Trinity Eco Tours has a large suite occupying the top floor, three other medium-sized rooms, and two smaller rooms. Each room will have queen-sized beds (the two smaller rooms will have double) night table, dresser, luggage stand, and full ensuite washroom with hairdryer. It will be the perfect accommodation for you to stay while in Trinity.

The Blue Whale room

The Blue Whale is the most spacious suite, encompassing almost 400 square feet and occupying the top floor of the interpretation center. There will be a very rustic feel to the suite, with wood planks on the walls and floors and with wood furniture pieces. The room consists of a queen sized bed, nightstands, a dresser, a full bath with tub and shower, as well as a hairdryer. The idea of the room is to keep the integrity of the home while having modern conveniences for the clients. It is the third level with its walk out balcony. The magnificent view includes Fort Point Lighthouse.

The Fin Whale room

The Fin Whale suite is a second-floor suite, located at the front of the building, overlooking Church road and the museum. This room has wood plank walls and flooring for a very cozy feel. Included in the room are a queen sized bed, dresser, night stand, television with Netflix, and local / Canada long distance calling. It also has an ensuite with a shower, toilet, sink, and hairdryer.

The Humpback Whale room

The Humpback Whale is the next spacious suite, located on the second floor in the front of the building. Your accommodations is facing Church street and overlooking Gunn Hill. The suite includes a bathroom with a shower, as well as a queen sized bed, night table, and dresser. The room is approximately 150 square feet, including the bathroom and is tastefully decorated with wood walls and furnishings, giving the room a cozy feel. Everything you see in this room is brand new for 2013 season. Included is a television with Netflix and local and long distance Canada wide calling free.

The Orca room

The next room is the Orca room, which is located on the first floor of the interpretation center in front of the home. Approximately 120 square feet, including ensuite with a shower, toilet, hairdryer, and sink, this room will have a cozy feel, with wood plank panel walls and floors. A queen sized bed, nightstand, and dresser with luggage rack will be offered in the room. You will also have a television with Netflix as well as free local and Canada wide calling.

The Minke room

The Minke is the second smallest suite, located on the second floor in the back of the building. It includes a double bed, as well as a bathroom with a sink, shower, toilet, and hairdryer. The room, as you can see, is tastefully decorated in wood and wood accents. There is a television with Netflix and night table as well. Storage is available under the bed. The mattresses are brand new memory foam ones, so, if you are interested in a memory foam bed, this one is for you. The atmosphere of this room can be considered very cozy. It is good for someone who wants to stay in a brand new facility but is on a budget.

The Beluga room

The Beluga room is the smallest room, measuring about 100 square feet. It has a double bed, night table, and storage under the bed. It also has a full ensuite with shower, toilet, sink, and hairdryer. It will be a room for couples that are looking for a budget priced room in the heart of Trinity.


Day 1: Trinity, 124 kilometers / 78 miles

  • 08:00 Arrival, room assignment, and check-in
  • 10:00 Arrive at ATV departure point, introduction and familiarization with ATV's
  • 10:30-10:45 Depart Trinity to travel to Loop Pond, old highway to Rattle Falls for approximately 38 kilometers / 24 miles
  • 13:00 Boil up / lunch on the trail for approximately an hour and 15 minutes
  • 14:30 Continue woods road exploration by Princeton Pond and its area for approximately 24 kilometers / 15 miles
  • 16:00 Return to Trinity for approximately 62 kilometers / 39 miles
  • 19:30 Dinner at the lodge or choice restaurant

Day 2: Trinity - Bonavista, 120 kilometers / 74 miles

  • 08:00 Rally to the departure point at Trinity East and meet ATV trailer to ride to Catalina for approximately 34 kilometers / 21 miles
  • 10:00 Arrive in Catalina - break - snacks provided
  • 12:00 Arrive outside Bonavista at a hotel and continue the trip to Bonavista
  • 12:30 Arrive in Bonavista
  • 12:45-13:45 Lunch at Harbour Quarters Inn
  • 14:00 Return to Trinity, stops and breaks on the way for approximately 60 kilometers / 37 miles
  • 19:00 Dinner at the lodge or a local restaurant

Day 3: Trinity - Thorburn Lake, 72 kilometers / 44 miles

  • 10:00 Meet ATV trailer at Midway Irving
  • 11:45 Travel to Thorburn on the lake
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:15 Return to departure point approximately 36 kilometers / 22 miles
  • 15:00 Arrive at the lodge
  • 15:30-16:30 Debrief and social prior to leaving

The primary off-road trail here is the old Newfoundland Railway bed known locally as the Trailway. Along with its route, you can experience the natural beauty, wildlife, lakes, rivers, and even the ocean.
