This will be the hardest decision you will have to make when it comes to your Enduro rides. Will you choose the rain forest or the beach? Whatever you choose you can bet that you will have a blast.
If you choose the beach route, then you have two accommodation options which are Hotel Jaco Laguna Resort and Beach Club located at Jaco Beach and Hotel Marea Brava Ocean Front and Villa located in Hermosa, 10 minutes from Jaco. If you choose the rain forest route, then the option is Hotel Colinas Alta Vista located at the Tarbaca mountains in Aserrí.
For this tour, you have three options to choose:
You will start with nice and easy trails around the Santa Ana area to get to know the bikes and get familiar with the terrain, after that you will start your adventure going to the mountain town of Puriscal known for their coffee and tobacco plantations. You will see a bunch of those as well as many types of trails known and loved by the local enduro riders.
If you come to Costa Rica, you have to eat a Casado. That is going to be your lunch. This typical meal is packed with carbs that will provide the energy to continue with your journey through single track trails a bit more fast and technical than the ones from the beginning. These will take you to Jaco Beach, one of the most popular beach towns in the Central Pacific.
You will explore everything the rainforest from the central pacific area has to offer, you will go to a desert beach to ride in the sand, after a nice lunch we will start going back to the San Jose area going through different trails.

You will have the joy to ride really fun trails until you get close to the volcano (the park is currently closed due to volcanic activity) but there is plenty to do around. You will spend the night in a hotel that is also a cheese farm, the temperature out night can go down to 5 degrees Celsius depending on the season.
If you ever wonder what is like to be in Mars, day 2 of this trip will interest you. Although the Cartago provinces is known for its lush vegetation, you will ride through some areas of old lava flows and ash during the journey. This is evidence that the area was once home to rivers that flowed with hot magma from the volcano. You will continue riding in beautiful forests with fun and technical trails while you go back to the Santa Ana area, you will not be repeating any trails on your way back.
