Program

Day 1: Arrival in Seattle

Upon arrival in Seattle, you will be taken to your comfortable airport hotel. You will have time to freshen up before the team leader gives a short talk on the practicalities of the trip and you have the opportunity to sip on a drink or two.

Day 2: Seattle - Moses Lake (220 miles / 335 kilometers)

In the morning, the motorbikes will already be eagerly waiting at the hotel for you, itching to get on the exceedingly bendy roads in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. In this mountainous region, you will find two 'sleeping' volcanoes; Mount Baker and Glacier Peak. The incomparable vistas will immediately give you that holiday feeling.

Day 3: Moses Lake - Sandpoint (240 miles / 386 kilometers)

From Washington state, you will ride over Mount Spokane into Idaho. The mountain, with a peak of almost 6,000 feet, is one of the highest in this area, and its name stems from the Indian tribe, The Spokane, which means 'Children of the Sun'.

Day 4: Sandpoint - Missoula (250 miles / 403 kilometers)

Your route takes you along Lake Pend Oreille. This lake is 350 meters deep and home to many rainbow trout. A tip for lunch? There are also many wild animals in the area. You may see deer and elk; there are many species of birds, wolves, black bears and grizzlies here. Highway 200 and 93 take you to Missoula.

Day 5: Missoula - Livingston (265 miles / 427 kilometers)

Magnificent landscapes, a short drive through Helena, the capital of Montana and then along the Grassy Mountains via small roads to Livingston. This cozy place is just north of Yellowstone, so you can head straight into it tomorrow!

Day 6: Livingston - Jackson (220 miles / 354 kilometers)

Yellowstone National Park was the first national park in the United States. The landscape is very varied: forests, meadows, geysers, springs, and waterfalls. Many wild animals live here: bison, grizzlies and brown bears. Take enough SD cards and spare batteries with you for the GoPro. This day delivers unforgettable pictures. At the end of this unforgettable day, you ride along the Grand Teton to cozy Jackson with its many restaurants and pubs.

Day 7: Jackson - Twin Falls (275 miles / 443 kilometers)

You are still touring through the state of Idaho with its original nature, visiting the Craters of the Moon National Park (the Apollo astronauts practiced the moon landing there) and crossing the not so well-known but extremely long Snake river (1,600 kilometers!). Spend the night in Twin Falls today.

Day 8: Twin Falls - Battle Mountain (240 miles / 386 kilometers)

First, visit the waterfalls of… .Twin Falls. Then, you ride through the endless desert of Nevada. Your final stop of the day is Battle Mountain - Nevada - at the foot of the Toiyabe Range.

Day 9: Battle Mountain - South Lake Tahoe (260 miles / 418 kilometers)

Today, you will ride through ever-changing landscapes, desert as well as fresh forests. A good day to drive along the 50 with the right rock music on your iPod. The trail is also called 'The loneliest Road of America'. Then it's time for a quick visit to the historic town of Virginia City (1859) near the Nevada-California border.

Day 10: South Lake Tahoe - San Francisco (230 miles / 370 kilometers)

You explore a natural area that you may never have heard of: the Eldorado National Forest is located in a mountainous area where fish-rich rivers meander. Ride through the Napa Valley wine region to San Francisco, of course via the Golden Gate! After checking in at the hotel, enjoy this great cosmopolitan city. Visit Fisherman's Wharf, China Town or the infamous Alcatraz. And ride the cable car!

Day 11: San Francisco - Santa Cruz (85 miles / 137 kilometers)

You'll be leaving later this time so that you can still enjoy something from SF tomorrow. A short but nice drive along Highway 1.

Day 12: Santa Cruz - Morro Bay (170 miles / 274 kilometers)

A wonderful ride along the famous Highway 1. Beautiful hills to the left and the impressive Pacific to the right. Past Monterey and Big Sur and just before Cambria you stop to look at the Elephant Sea Lions in San Simeon. These animals share their habitat with the sea otters.

Day 13: Morro Bay - Los Angeles (150 miles / 242 kilometers)

Curve riders get their money's worth again today because you are making a wonderful serpentine ride in the Los Padres National Forest. Take a break in the Ojaj biker bar, after which, your way leads you to Los Angeles. The bikes are given goodbye there.

Day 14: Los Angeles (free day)

Bringing your trip to a close, you can choose from a variety of day trips. You can visit Universal Studios or Disneyland, shop till you drop in Santa Monica, or enjoy a lazy day at Venice Beach.

Day 15: Departure from Los Angeles

Transfer to the airport with the hotel shuttle for your return flight to Europe. Or maybe you want to extend your trip? USA on Wheels will of course book your extra requests.
