Program

Day 1: Arrival in Los Angeles

Upon arrival in Los Angeles, you will be taken to an airport hotel. After a quick chance to freshen up in your hotel room, your guide holds a small preliminary meeting at the welcome drink at the start of the tour.

Day 2: Los Angeles - Santa Maria (220 miles / 354 kilometers)

Early in the morning, you get to know your motorcycles, which will prove their loyal service in the coming days. After the formalities and the first briefing, you steer out of the city and curve through the Los Padres National Forest. You spend the night in the famous seaside resort of Pismo Beach and soon forgot all the stress.

Day 3: Santa Maria - Santa Cruz (235 miles / 378 kilometers)

Enjoy the famous coastal road Highway 1 today, which swings along the Pacific. Cross well-known places such as Carmel and Monterey via deserted, smaller paths. Set up your 'tents' in a comfortable motel not far from San Francisco.

Day 4: Santa Cruz - San Francisco (85 miles / 137 kilometers)

This afternoon, the impressive Golden Gate Bridge is on the program and, of course, you will ride across it. Afterwards, you will check-in at the hotel and you can choose from a variety of sightseeing activities such as a cable-car ride and visiting Fishermans Wharf or the famous Alcatraz Island and China Town.

Day 5: San Francisco - Merced (190 miles / 306 kilometers)

Leave town along San Francisco Bay and enjoy the winding route in the hilly landscape. Reach Patterson via Mount Hamilton - the highest mountain in this region with a view of Silicon Valley. From there, chase your bikes past citrus orchards to Merced.

Day 6: Merced - Bishop (210 miles / 338 kilometers)

The picturesque Yosemite National Park will surprise many with its 11,000 feet high Tioga Pass, followed by a long descent passing sparkling lakes. Once at the bottom of the "mountain", you drive right to Bishop. A convivial place with a whole range of bars.

Day 7: Bishop - Las Vegas (290 miles / 467 kilometers)

Mountain lovers have a lot to laugh about today because you drive on Scenic Highway 266 and 168 through the lonely Piper Mountain Wilderness Area. Later, you drive north around Death Valley (officially the warmest place on earth) through Shoshone. Please make sure that you are rested because tonight, you will dive into the world-famous entertainment metropolis.

Day 8: Las Vegas - St. George (150 miles / 241 kilometers)

And did you win something? Leave the noise of the slot machines behind you to seek out the silence - and warmth - in the desert. Reach St. George, where you enjoy the hotel's swimming pool upon arrival.

Day 9: St. George - Flagstaff (305 miles / 491 kilometers)

The Zion National Park, with its impressive pink rock massifs, will remain in your memory for a long time. Follow your relaxed journey across the Navajo Bridge of the Colorado River and through the Painted Desert to Flagstaff. This historic city is located on Route 66 and has a long history ... and a lively nightlife!

Day 10: Flagstaff - Flagstaff (approximately 200 miles / 322 kilometers)

Today, after a little sleep in and breakfast, you will go to see one of the 7 wonders of the world and it will take you 2 hours to reach the Grand Canyon. Cruising down the South Rim, you will stop at all the viewpoints, feeling tiny against such a natural colossal backdrop. The helicopter ride and a visit to the Imax Theatre, which will teach you more about the Grand Canyon, are highly recommended.

Day 11: Flagstaff - Kingman (245 miles / 395 kilometers)

Art, Native American culture, and the Red Rocks make Sedona a city not to be missed. The artistic Jerome is a good place for a drink and a game of pool. Via Chino Valley, you will ride to Seligman, the most famous town on Route 66, and then on to Kingman.

Day 12: Kingman - Palm Springs (245 miles / 395 kilometers)

You will follow Route 66 along with small roads to the well-known Oatman in Nevada. At Needles, you will cross the Colorado River, back towards California. You will get the “Born to be Wild” feeling as you trudge along desolate desert roads, 100 miles without water or fuel. Passing plenty of wind turbines, you will head towards tonight’s oasis, the Palm Springs.

Day 13: Palm Springs - Los Angeles (200 miles / 322 kilometers)

As a last farewell, you will relish a steady climb up the beautiful mountains along enjoyable, winding mountain roads. On Lake Elsinore, you will have a chance to enjoy a final view over Cleveland National Forest, followed by the last stretch of interstate towards the city. The motorbikes will finally be able to get a ‘drink’ and a pat on the back as you bid them farewell.

Day 14: Los Angeles free day

Today, you will be given the opportunity to ogle at the mansions of Hollywood stars, visit Universal Studios, go shopping in Santa Monica, stroll down Venice Beach, or take a ride in a limousine down Beverly Hills. Rodeo Drive, here it comes!

Day 15: Los Angeles - departure

Transfer to the airport with the hotel shuttle for your return flight to Europe. Or maybe you want to extend your trip? USA on Wheels will of course book your extra requests.
