Most hotels will also have a pool.

Program

Day 1: Arrival in Los Angeles

Upon arrival in Los Angeles, you will be taken to an airport hotel. There will be an opportunity to freshen up, followed by getting to know the tour guides while enjoying drinks on the hotel terrace. There will also be a short talk on the practicalities of the trip.

Day 2: Los Angeles - Ensenada (210 miles / 338 kilometers)

Early in the morning, you will collect the motorbikes and after your first briefing, you will ride out of Los Angeles to your first coffee stop in Laguna Beach. After the break, you will ride down south along the coast and cross the border into Tijuana. Along the way, you will be able to see San Diego Naval Base and the rough mountain roads that follow will give you a taster of what an unrefined night in Mexico will have in store.

Day 3: Ensenada - Calexico (165 miles / 266 kilometers)

After substantial breakfast, an equally substantial ride inland through the mountains will follow. You will stop for lunch in Tecate, where the famous Mexican beer finds its roots. More breathtaking mountain roads will take you on to Calexico.

Day 4: Calexico - Prescott (265 miles / 427 kilometers)

The first few miles will bring you to rural countryside, after which you will drive through the desert to Blythe. Here, you will leave California behind you and enter Arizona. Those who love riding through mountains will certainly get what they ask for along the way to Prescott.

Day 5: Prescott - Flagstaff (100 miles / 161 kilometers)

Today, Jerome, the old gold-diggers town with its unique museum, will be engraved in your memory forever. Sedona, a nice little city wedged in between the famous Red Rocks, will also leave a lasting impression. You will stay the night in Flagstaff, your last stop before you reach the Grand Canyon.

Day 6: Flagstaff - Tuba City (145 miles / 234 kilometers)

Today, you will cruise the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, providing one Kodak moment after the other. Ensure you bring plenty of empty memory cards for your camera because, as one of the 7 wonders of the world, this ‘tear’ in the earth will take your breath away. Both the Imax Theatre visit and helicopter ride are highly recommended.

Day 7: Tuba City - Page (85 - 240 miles / 137 - 387 kilometers)

Riding through the Painted Desert, you will head towards Page and the beautiful Lake Powell which offers a variety of water sports. You now have a choice between relaxing and taking in the sun rays at this resort or rediscovering the Marlboro County during a visit to Monument Valley, made famous by the many movies and documentaries filmed there.

Day 8: Page - Hurricane (185 miles / 298 kilometers)

Today’s advice is to ride slowly so you do not miss any of the natural beauty of the Colorado River, Marble Canyon, and the stunning Zion National Park. The ride will further take you to Hurricane, where you will enjoy a festive barbecue prepared by the group.

Day 9: Hurricane - Las Vegas (165 miles / 266 kilometers)

Today, you will ride on to the hub of entertainment which is Las Vegas, a must-see city for anyone. You will see the glitter and glamor of hotels, big enough to fit whole villages, spectacular shows and attractions, and architectural masterpieces, pumped full of money and effort. There are just not enough words to describe the ‘craziness’ of this place.

Day 10: Las Vegas - Lone Pine (235 miles / 379 kilometers)

You will leave Las Vegas through the notorious Death Valley, officially the hottest place on earth. Sweltering tarmac roads, awe-inspiring silence, dark-coloured rocks, and endless plains await you. You will stay the night in a cooler location in Lone Pine right next to Jake’s Saloon, an atmospheric Western bar with ‘real’ cowboys.

Day 11: Lone Pine - Visalia (320 miles / 515 kilometers)

Via Bishop, you will ride to Yosemite National Park through the approximately 11,000 feet high Tioga Pass. Here, you will have the feeling of being in the Alps, although (unlike in the Alps) trees still grow here at this altitude. It is an impressive ride through mountains with amazing natural beauty and lakes. If this route is closed due to snowfall, the route will be adjusted accordingly.

Day 12: Visalia (165 miles / 266 kilometers)

Today, you will have a ride through the Sequoia National Park, famous for its enormous sequoia trees. You will have ample time to view the giant forest and other special sights, such as the biggest tree on earth, the Sherman tree (some 270 feet high). Via a delightful, windy road, you will descend down to Porterville for the night.

Day 13: Visalia - Los Angeles (270 miles / 435 kilometers)

Today, you will continue your route heading south along citrus plantations to Mariposa. There, you will take a turn into the hills and after a glorious ride, you will take a breath in the bikers bar in Ojai. You will follow the road towards Los Angeles, where you will bid your motorbikes farewell and leave them to rest. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to see Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard, and Hollywood.

Day 14: Los Angeles

Today will be a day for leisure and relaxation. You will have the opportunity to book day trips to Universal Studios or Disneyland, spend the day shopping in Santa Monica, or enjoy a lazy day or stroll down on Venice Beach.

Day 15: Los Angeles departure

In the early morning, you will leave on a shuttle bus to the airport to catch the flight back.

  • In principal, you will ride in convoy. However, if you wish to ride part of the journey on your own, you can discuss this with your team leader.
