Program

Day 1: Los Angeles

After sitting still for hours on the plane, you will enjoy your stay at a luxurious Los Angeles airport hotel. After arrival and a chance to freshen up, your team leader will go through the practicalities of the trip, while you enjoy a well-deserved beverage.

Day 2: Los Angeles - Palm Springs (314 kilometers / 195 miles)

After an early rise, get ready for the first meeting with the motorcycles. After the formalities, you will start riding them and leave the city for a relaxed ride south over the San Diego Freeway, which brings you into a real biker cafe. You will be also heading for Lake Elsinore, the largest freshwater lake in California.

Day 3: Palm Springs - Lake Havasu (338 kilometers / 210 miles)

Via Joshua Tree and Twenty Nine Palms, although you counted many more, you will ride into the desert. Crossing the Colorado River at Parker, you will steer north to today’s destination, Arizona, with its famous London Bridge that was, no joke, imported from London.

Day 4: Lake Havasu - Flagstaff (426 kilometers / 265 miles)

Today you will ride along Route 66 as much as possible, and through the legendary Oatman Pass, where donkeys wander around (so watch out) on your way to the Western town of Seligman. Those of you in need of a shave can get one in the famous barbershop, Angels, and then on to Flagstaff. Feel free to make it a late one tonight, because today will be a free day.

Day 5: Flagstaff - Flagstaff (approximately 322 kilometers / 200 miles)

You might want to jump on your motorbike to take a ride to see the Grand Canyon. Along the South Rim, there will be plenty of photo opportunities. During a helicopter ride or a visit to the Imax Theatre, you will be able to get all up close and personal to the Grand Canyon.

Day 6: Flagstaff - Blanding (515 kilometers / 320 miles)

Riding through the Painted Desert, which gets its name from the red, purple, and brown colored sandstone rocks, via Kayenta, you will head towards Monument Valley, where an off-road drive in a Jeep into Marlboro County is possible. After this, you will ride on to Blanding.

Day 7: Blanding - Panguitch (515 kilometers / 320 miles)

Today is a beautiful ride through Capitol Reef National Park, a vast nature reserve with interesting rock formations, mountains, and bends.

Day 8: Panguitch - Hurricane (209 kilometers / 130 miles)

After visiting Bryce Canyon National Park, with its bizarre natural rock formations, the so-called hoodoos, you will ride on to the equally beautiful Zion National Park. At the hotel, USA on Wheels will organize a home-made barbecue and relax beside the whirlpool.

Day 9: Hurricane - Las Vegas (266 kilometers / 165 miles)

From Hurricane, you will drive on to the American hub of entertainment, Las Vegas. Arriving early, there will be plenty of opportunities to explore this center of entertainment in great detail.

Day 10: Las Vegas (free day)

Today you will have ample time to explore the colossal hotels, go shopping, eat copious amounts of food, or a quick game of poker. Or, you can go crazy and take a ride on a roller coaster atop the Stratosphere, or get married in one of the many chapels.

Day 11: Las Vegas - Lone Pine (378 kilometers / 235 miles)

Today, you ride through Death Valley, the hottest place on earth, although due to low humidity the heat is endurable. Along the way, you will take an informative stop at the Visitors Centre and take a break at Zabriskie Point, a popular viewpoint. After that, you will face a considerable climb, for which a spectacular view of this intense landscape will be your reward.

Day 12: Lone Pine - Merced (418 kilometers / 260 miles)

You will continue north to Lee Vining, located near Yosemite National Park. Along the 11,000 feet high Tioga Pass, you will follow the route through awe-inspiring mountainous terrain.

Day 13: Merced - San Francisco (225 kilometers / 140 miles)

Today is a timely arrival in one of the most famous and enjoyable cities of America. Immerse yourself in the delights of Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz, China Town, cable cars, the Golden Gate Bridge, or one of the many museums.

Day 14: San Francisco

Free day.

Day 15: San Francisco - Visalia (499 kilometers / 310 miles)

Along the famous Highway 1, you will ride south. This Pacific Coast Highway extends all the way from Canada down to Mexico. This tour will bring you through sloping landscapes, fruit plantations, and vineyards.

Day 16: Visalia - Visalia (266 kilometers / 165 miles)

Today’s must-see is Sequoia National Park. You will get to know the Sherman Tree, the tallest tree on earth (some 270 feet high). You will take a delightful winding road down to the hotel.

Day 17: Visalia - Los Angeles (435 kilometers / 270 miles)

Those of you who enjoy cruising around bends will get a kick from riding through this less well-known, but peaceful Lost Padres National Forest Park. After a quick drink in Ojai, you will carry on towards Los Angeles. Upon arrival, you will drop off your motorbikes.

Day 18: Los Angeles

Today is a free day, with the opportunity to visit Universal Studios, the Paul Getty Museum, Disneyland, or other tourist attractions. Ask your team leader for advice, because there is a lot to do and see in this city.

Day 19: Los Angeles

An early start will bring you to the airport by shuttle bus to catch the flight home.
