Vietnam shares its borders with China in the north, Laos and Cambodia in the west, and the South China Sea in the east. This stunning country lies in the center of Southeast Asia. Vietnam's territory stretches from Lung Cu village (Ha Tuyen province) in the north to Rach Tau hamlet (Minh Hai Province) in the south. It is an S-shaped peninsula with thousands of off-shore islands and archipelagoes. The biggest of which are the Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) and Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) archipelagoes.
Dalat is famous as the ‘Swiss Alps of Vietnam’. Dalat holds some unique European-influenced architectures and has a colder climate than the surrounding areas. Dalat was a popular respite for commanders and war correspondents who were fortunate enough to escape from the front lines. Many strategies were devised here, though Dalat was largely untouched by the fighting.
Lak Lake is a home to several minority tribes and traditional villages.
Dak Nong Province was the scene of many conflicts and heavy bombing by the US Air Force. Today, these regions have changed into coffee plantations. The roads through the regions provide not only great riding but also a true insight of this mighty country.
Ho Chi Minh trail was used by the Viet Cong to send troops and supplies from north to south throughout the raging war. It is crucial to the war effort, vital to the lifeblood of Vietnam, and it virtually speaks to you as you negotiate each turn. Today, Ho Chi Minh trail is a joy for riders to behold.
Hue serves as a dividing line between the north and south of Vietnam. This city is located on the banks of the Perfume River and it was the national capital until 1945.
