During the tour, you will stay in various accommodations, from a hotel, homestay, and boat cabin.

Day 1: Ha Noi - Mai Chau (150 kilometers / 93 miles, 5 hours)

Pickup and transfer to Vietnam Trail garage where you will take the bikes and start your first-day ride to Mai Chau. Leaving Hanoi and breaking out of the delta plains, you pass through endless limestone karts scenery as you travel up to the Northwestern region, the extensive farming lands comprising a sea of paddy fields split by tree-lined roads. Arrive in Mai Chau in late afternoon, spend the night in a stilt house of the Thais minority peoples, and enjoy dinner with the family.

Day 2: Mai Chau - Phu Yen (180 kilometers / 112 miles, 6 hours)

You head up today into a forested and high mountain region populated by H’mong people. You will hike up a very high mountain pass before descending into a mountainous tea-growing region. Soon after we follow a long valley floor covered in a sea of rice surrounded by Hmong and Thai’s villages all the way to Phu Yên town. Overnight at hotel, dinner in town.

Day 3: Phu Yen - Vu Linh (150 kilometers / 93 miles, 5 hours)

Today, you have two options: one takes you around the very end of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, enjoying good riding on winding sealed mountain roads. The other crosses over the very end of the range and takes you through an untarnished rain forest on a challenging, rocky road. Do you know? The Hoang Lien Son mountain range is the main range of northwest Vietnam and also includes the highest peak, Fansipan.

From Ba Khe, you continue on a sealed road through renowned tea growing areas, where the hillsides are literally covered in plantations, all the way to the city of Yen Bai which sits on the Red River. From here it’s a short ride to the edge of Thac Ba Lake, also formed by the construction of hydroelectricity dam in the 1970s. Overnight in a homestay.

Day 4: Vu Linh - BaBe (200 kilometers / 124 miles, 7 hours)

You ride cross over the very end of the range and takes you through an untarnished rain forest on a challenging, rocky road. The Song Gam mountain range is the main range of northeast Vietnam.

From Tuyen Quang, you continue riding on a sealed road through renowned tea growing areas, where the hillsides are literally covered in plantations. From here it’s a short ride to the edge of Ba Be Lake. Overnight home-stay in the Tay's family.

Day 5: Ba Be - Cao Bang (170 kilometers / 106 miles, 6 hours)

You leave Ba Be by a fantastic mountainous road, leading you along scattering high limestone formations and heavily forested hills. Further north is Cao Bang Province, a remote area on the border with China. Cao Bang is sparsely populated. It has several ethnic communities in villages hardly affected by tourism. Cao Bang is famous for its graceful mountains, grottos, and streams. Dinner in town, overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Quang Hoa (150 kilometers / 93 miles)

You strike directly north, skirting the border town of Quang Hoa then you join the legendary "National road no 4" where the Viet Minh forces carried out numerous raids over uncountable passes in this remote border region. Enjoy the most beautiful waterfall of Vietnam, continue riding to Quang Hoa town where you have dinner and overnight at a homestay.

Day 7: Quang Hoa - Lang Son (160 kilometers / 99 miles, 5 hours)

Today you travel back in time. You go back to Indochina by driving the famous Colonial Road No. 4, where you pass villages like Dong Khe and That Khe. This place is well-known for its countless bloody fights during the 1950s between Viet Minh and the French Force.

In the late afternoon, you arrive in Lang Son city and discover the central market. This market offers divers Chinese products as Lang Son is the trade-gateway between China and Viet Nam. Before checking in your hotel in Lang Son, you enjoy an interesting visit to Tam Thanh and Nhi Thanh grottos.

Day 8: Lang Son - Ha Long Bay (180 kilometers / 112 miles, 4 hours)

Ride to Halong Bay through the lush of Red River vegetation. Arrival Halong bay pier and check-in registration, board a boat for a stunning cruise amongst towering limestone backdrop while enjoying lunch on board. The cruise will take you by exotic islets with shapes of Dog, Incense Urn, Sail, Fighting Cocks, which are naturally formed by process of erosion between the sea water and limestone mountains. Overnight on boat.

Day 9: Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi (170 kilometers / 106 miles, 4 hours)
