VietnamRider Travel Motorcycle Tour Vietnam Itinerary

Overview

  • Bike: rental bike
  • Terrain: mix of off-road, trail, and asphalt
  • Mileage: 690 kilometers / 429 miles
  • Daily rides: 150 - 200 kilometers / 94 - 125 miles

Day 1: Nha Trang - Da Lat (160 kilometers / 100 miles)

You will explore the countryside of Nha Trang; the rice papers-making village, the yellow noodles-making village, and the Giarai ethnic minority village. You will also cross the Cai River by the floating bamboo bridge and visit the Linh Phuoc temple with the Buddha statue that is made by a thousand of flowers (it is recognized in the Guinness book).

You will travel on the Omega Pass at the height of 1500 meters, it is one of the most beautiful roads in Vietnam. Along the road, there are some nice waterfalls and the beautiful scenery. Stay overnight at a hotel in Da Lat.

Day 2: The farm stay (150 kilometers / 94 miles)

Explore the countryside in Da Lat; the coffee plantations, the weasel coffee farm, the silk weaving factory, a Buddhist temple, the mushroom farms, Pongour waterfall (the second biggest waterfall in South Vietnam), and the Kho minority villages. Travel today on the small roads and about 50 kilometers off-roads.

You will do a homestay at the farm stay owned by a Belgian couple in the middle of the rice fields and coffee farms. Stay overnight at the private bungalows, next to a waterfall, the flower garden, and a pool. You can book the family to cook your dinner and make the BBQ party (optional), have some cold beers and relax next to the campfire in the evening.

Day 3: The Ho Chi Minh trail (200 kilometers / 125 miles)

From the farm stay, you will take the hidden road to the west of the central highlands through the national park and cross the big dam to enter the Ho Chi Minh road and continue to travel along the border of Cambodia-Vietnam to the south.

Along the route, you can visit the tea town, tea plantations, tea-making shops, and the special butterfly paintings, learn about the history of the famous Ho Chi Minh trail, and explore the Cat Tien Holyland (since the 4th century). You can also try the adventure ride on about 50 kilometers off-road before arriving at the border town and stay overnight at a 2-star hotel.

Day 4: Saigon (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

Continue travel through the rubber plantations and visit the heroic Cu Chi tunnel where you can do the gun shooting (your option). Did you know who were the first men that explored the Cu Chi Tunnels? It's the Australian soldiers, not the U.S. Army. In January 1965, a unique chapter of Australian military history was created when a young Royal Australian Engineers captain called Sandy MacGregor encountering a Vietcong tunnel system and asked a very pertinent question, "does anybody know what's down there?"

Sandy's men in three field troop answered that by being the first allied soldiers to explore the Vietcong's tunnels in Cu Chi and the U.S. Army protocol was to identify the entrances and destroy them, thereby creating the legend of the Tunnel Rats. From here, you will travel by the small roads in the quiet countryside to explore the rat-meet village before entering Saigon. This is the end of the tour.
