Day 1: Central Highlands (200 kilometers / 124.2 miles)

Pick up and depart at VietnamRider Travel office in Saigon. Your professional tour leader will help you to escape from the busy traffic by the small roads through the rubber plantations and stop by the broken bridge that used to be the part of the old HCM trail in Vietnam war, visit the Burning Tank memorial in Cu Chi, visit the secret entrance of Cu Chi tunnel at Saigon river, visit the heroic Cu Chi tunnel where you can do the gun-shooting).

Did you know who were the first men that explored the Cu Chi tunnels? It's the Australian soldiers not the U.S Army. In January 1965, a unique chapter of Australian military history was created when a young Royal Australian Engineers captain called Sandy MacGregor, encountering a Vietcong tunnel system, asked a very pertinent question - does anybody know what's down there?

Sandy's men in three field troop answered that by being the first allied soldiers to explore the Vietcong's tunnels in Cu Chi - US Army protocol was to identify the entrances and destroy them - thereby creating the legend of the Tunnel Rats. You will stay overnight at a two-star hotel at the border town.

Day 2: Challenge off-road ride (200 kilometers / 124.2 miles)

Nobody knows that VietnamRider Travel can arrange this special tour that starts from Saigon and riding only by the off-roads in south Vietnam. Today, they will prove to you by the full day with the challenge ride on the real off-roads in the south of Central Highlands, Vietnam. The temperature is getting cooler on the highlands so it will be easier to travel in the dirt and sands.

This route will take you through the plantations, forests, and high mountains, even a place where you must ride across the small river. Enjoy the good local foods and drink at the rest stop along the way. You will stay overnight at a two-star hotel at a small local town.

Day 3: Farm Stay (220 kilometers / 136.7 miles)

You will travel by some back roads through the cashew-nut farms, minority village, and the national park and to cross the southern Central Highlands. All VietnamRider Travel's Australian riders enjoyed this adventure route a lot, specially when you are somewhere along the 1,000-meter high mountains and inside deep jungles.

Today, you will stay overnight at the Farm Stay, owned by a Belgian couple, in the middle of the rice fields and coffee farms. You may stay at the private bungalows, next to a waterfall, the flower garden, and a pool. You can book the family to cook your dinner and make a barbecue party, have some cold beers and relax next to the campfire in the evening.

Day 4: The beach (150 kilometers / 93.2 miles)

After three days of hard ride on the full off-roads, today you will travel by the good road from the highlands down to the coast where you will have a good relaxing time at a resort on the beach at Mui Ne. In the morning, you will have a 100 kilometer ride through the racing road along the 1,000-meter high mountains and deep jungles. There are some minority villages on the way and the rice paddies, the dragon-fruits farms that will be good to use for the background of the panorama.

Depend on your riding skills, you can travel about 50 kilometers on the real challenge off-road through the sandy farms. In the evening, you can buy some fresh seafood, cold beers, and a good massage at local shops in Mui Ne beach. You will stay overnight at a three-star resort with private bamboo bungalows and swimming pool right on the quiet beach.

Day 5: Saigon (200 kilometers / 124.2 miles)

Your last night will be at a nightclub on the beach with some cold beers and happy hour. What else would you ask for more about this trip? As all of VietnamRider Travel's customers are really happy, having a good time with the ride on the off-roads through the beautiful countryside and that you will never find it yourselves or by any guidebooks or even with the other tour operators.

The system provided support, in the form of manpower and material, to the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (called the Vietcong or “VC” by its opponents) and the People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN), or North Vietnamese Army, during the Vietnam War.

    Great Adventure

CONS Cons: Nothing to dislike, tour was great.

PROS Pros: The tour from start to finish was amazing. Hung was a great, funny and knowledgeable tour guide. Unfortunately the battlefields part of the tour was closed by the government so we bypassed it and went to Dalat later in the week instead which was a beautiful last minute addition to the tour and much appreciated. Everyday was filled with enjoyable activities and I learned a lot about all the places we visited and the people. Thoroughly recommend the tour as very well organised.

Organizer response: Dear Mr. Brett, Thank you very much for your review. We are appreciated very much. We hope that you can write for us another review on the Tripadvisor as well. We also have updated our guide Hung's profile on this page so you can rate him. All the best wishes to you and hope to see you again for another tours in Vietnam. VIETNAMRIDER® Original since 1965

Stranded on a Bike in South Vietnam

CONS Cons: Some of the tour a bit Touristy, but we changed that.....Found some great sights and a local place to have a swim. I think we tailored it a bit to what I wanted but that needs to be the real tour..... (no brick factories) haha

PROS Pros: My Host Nairn Phung was more like a mate. I will keep in touch. Funny, great navigator and extremely social. We took the piss out of a lot of things. We found some great local places to chill, local food interactions and off course hit a few cans 🤘😝👍 If I wasn't happy Nairn found a way to improve. More challenging roads, different spots. We even got a real life interaction with a police roadside patrol.

Organizer response: Hi Mr. Steve, Thank you for doing the tour with our company. We are happy when you are happy and enjoy our tour. We are also appreciated very much that you wrote a very true review for us. We hope that we can do other tours in future. Of course this time we will prove you the real challenge off-road tours. Maybe you can share this information to all your friends and you can book the next tours with more riders. Again thank you very much and see you soon. "My good mate and myself did a 12 day tour with Nam in 2011 from Nha Trang to Hanoi via the Central Highlands and the HCM Trail. Nam was great to deal with in setting up the destinations we wanted to take in and we left all the arrangements for bikes and accommodation with him. Once we arrived in HCMC I was in contact with Nam thanks to the info he had given me prior to our trip. We flew to Cam Ranh where Nam was waiting to pick us up and finalize our contract. With all that done we where on our big bikes and off on the greatest inspiring adventure ahead of us. Nam was amazing with all his knowledge and electronic gadgets to guide us through some unforgetable scenery, people, food and moments a journey like this can bring. We got more than just a guided tour, we got to meet the real people and see the history of some amazing places that many other westerners we had met on the journey did not get from their guided tours.."

"Nam has remained a good friend of mine since and I am very thankful to him for inspiring me to do more of these rides when in SE Asia. We caught up again on my last visit to Vietnam in 2013 where Nam gave me some great advice on places to visit while there. "

"I look forward to catching up with him again this coming April 2017."

    "In Nam we Trust."

"This was my third trip with Nam and hopefully not my last. The accomodation is always good and spaced out nicely over the journey. Nam certainly knows his way around Vietnam and you get to see a lot of out of the way places. A great trip all round!"

"I was a solo female first time rider planning to ride to Hanoi, a friend from my hostel suggested I hire Nam my first couple days of riding ... IM SO HAPPY I DID! Nam is an amazing guide!!! I always felt very safe, I learned a lot about riding and about Vietnam from Nam. He took me to a few 'off the beaten path' spots along the way, which just added to the experience. We became good friends after only two days, my trip in Vietnam was 7 weeks total, Nam kept in contact and made sure I was safe my entire trip. Getting any length tour from Nam is worth every penny!!! I highly recommend Nam!!"

"I must admit I was a bit scared before setting out on our two day motorbike tour. Anyone who has seen traffic in Vietnam will certainly understand this! However, within ten minutes of heading out Nam, Hung, and the rest of the crew had me totally at ease! The entire trip was a blast. It was a great way to get off the beaten track. The crew also timed lots of great stops that were also perfect for a bit of a stretch. Highly recommended! My only constructive feedback would be that a few of the helmets were starting to look a bit worn and could probably be replaced soon."
