Their cabins, aptly named The Sinkhole Lodge and The Black Spruce Inn, are located high in the Long Range Mountains at the terminus of the tree line on a remote glacier carved pond.
The Sinkhole Lodge is the perfect base camp for your backcountry adventures. On the cabin's main level is a large bedroom with room to store your personal gear, and two adult-sized bunk beds complete with cozy down duvets that can sleep four adults quite comfortably. It boasts an open concept living room and full kitchen comes equipped with everything you need to prepare a hearty meal. A propane range, fridge, wood stove, and table with bench seating can easily seat six adults. A half bath with vanity, storage and flush toilet round out the main level. Upstairs is a warm rustic open loft equipped with a double bed, and hands down one of the best mountain views on the island.

Haven’t used a snowmobile before? Do not worry, Wild Gros Morne's knowledgeable riding instructors will run you through their custom snowmobile training program, familiarizing you with how to properly and safely operate a snowmobile. Even the most inexperienced user can be trained up and out on the trails in no time.
After an exciting day, return back to your private off grid mountain retreat high in the Long Range Mountains. The warm and rustic backcountry cabins are located at the terminus of the tree line on a remote glacier carved pond. The only traffic you will find there is the odd snowmobiler, skier, or herd of caribou heading up towards the barrens. Smack dab in the heart of the Western Newfoundland snow globe, hundreds of kilometers of snowmobiling, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing trails can be found right on the doorstep, making this a true winter lovers paradise.

For those professional or budding photogs, the backcountry cabins are located in one of the most scenic areas in Newfoundland. Please bring extra memory cards!
With almost zero light pollution, you will venture out on a night ride to some of Wild Gros Morne's favorite stargazing locations. You will be amazed at how many stars you did not even know existed!
You will spend the day discovering the simple but busy life of a winter off grid homestead. Collecting water, cutting, splitting and stacking wood and daily cabin chores are all part of this experience add on.
It may be cold outside but you will be cozy in your tent with Wild Gros Morne's specialized winter camping equipment. Do not worry, Wild Gros Morne will keep the fire going in your cabin in case you want to cut the tenting adventure a little short.
You will spend the afternoon out looking for dead dry standing trees suitable for harvesting. You will load up the wood sleigh and return back to the cabin where you will learn the secrets behind making a roaring winter bonfire. During the bonfire, you will cook up a sampling of tasty traditional cuisine.
Snowmobiling is a great way to enjoy winter but it can get chilly. You will be out all day riding in many exposed areas and appropriate warm and waterproof clothing suitable for this cold weather activity is highly recommended. Wild Gros Morne snowmobile tours will take you through many remote areas of Western Newfoundland where there is little to no cell phone reception. Be sure to have any personal and medical items needed.
