During this tour, you will be staying at several different accommodations. You will spend nights at a family's house or a hotel. The homestay is hosted by ethnic people in a traditional stilt house (Tay, Dao, Thai, Hmong).

Although Vietnam is a developing country and you will visit some remote places, the quality of accommodation has improved greatly. In small towns, you will be staying at local private guesthouses. The rooms are shared twins and provided with air conditioning, a private bathroom with hot water, and mosquito nets on each bed.

In some locations, the local homestays are available and the sleeping arrangements are made usually in a house on stilts, all in one room. Each person will have a mattress, a pillow, and mosquito nets, and will be sharing a toilet or shower.

Night 1

Sleep in a homestay, at Tu Le (1 person on 1 mattress) or shared double room with a shared bathroom.

Night 2

Sleep in a homestay, at Mu Cang Chai (1 person on 1 mattress) or shared double room with a shared bathroom.


Day 1: Hanoi - Yen Bai City, Yen Bai - Tu Le

At 6.30 - 7 a.m., the staff will pick you up from your hotel to the bus from Hanoi to Yen Bai city (in the case your hotel is in the Old Quater area, Hanoi. If not, please catch a taxi to bus office).

Around 10 a.m., drop off in Yen Bai city. The staff will prepare a motorbike for you to start from here. You will ride around 50 kilometers before taking lunch. After lunch, you will continue to ride to Nghia Lo - the home of Thai people and a large rice field - Muong Lo field. You will start to see the beautiful scenery beside the road, the green tea plantations hill, the rice paddy, and ethnic local life.

Arrive at Tu Le, enjoy dinner with traditional meals and sleep in a traditional and authentic house of Thai people. The room in the homestay is a shared room, each person sleeps in each mattress on the second floor. If you want to sleep in a private room, let Zonitrip know to change to a hostel or hotel. Depends on the customers’ riding skills, Zonitrip can customize the duration to suit your health.

Day 2: Tu Le - Mu Cang Chai (50 - 70 kilometers / 31 - 44 miles)

After breakfast, you continue to run from Tu Le - Mu Cang Chai. You have a full day to discover the beauty of this mountainous district. Mu Cang Chai - the hilly paddy growing districts, is designated as Vietnam’s national heritage site. It is home to Vietnam’s Hmong minority tribe, whose rural way of life and colorful ethnic costumes and amazing scene for photography.

This journey passes through a stunning mountainous landscape, get higher and higher. You will cover the Khau Pha Pass (one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam).

The ride is on some of the most scenic roads which offer a lot of stops for picturing such as Cao Pha valley, a beautiful valley located at the foot of the pass and Paragliding site, to see the panorama view of pass and valley.

You will continue ride from La Pan Tan center to Mam Xoi, belong to the beautiful green or yellow terraced rice fields, enjoy the amazing and stupendous of the mountain region, explore the farming work and life of Hmong ethnic people. The road in mountain includes cement-concrete steeply road and dirt rock soil road, it’s a challenge for your riding skill and interesting experience. In the afternoon, there are 2 options depends on the weather, the rice status, and your health:

Option 1

Around 4-5 p.m., ride a motorbike to Sang Nhu village to see the sunrise. The road is muddy, soil and a very difficult road, if you want to try offroad, we can arrange for you to go. If you are not confident, you can trek up or using a motorbike taxi. Sang Nhu is famous for the rice curve in the sunset, the suitable time to visit is from May to Sep.

Option 2

In the afternoon after lunch, continue to ride the motorbike and explore the rice terrace or local life beside the road in the Che Cu Nha area. If you want to trek, Zonitrip can customize the tour for the afternoon, trek to Hang Dang De village - in Che Cu Nha commune. It takes around 2-3 hours, the cement and soil path, steep trail. If you ride motorbike well, Zonitrip can create an offroad route for you from Che Cu Nha to Kim Noi village.

The end of the road is a homestay of Thai ethnic people. Enjoy the dinner and sleep here. On this day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 3: Mu Cang Chai - Yen Bai - Hanoi

After breakfast, there’s more time to look around and experience life in Mu Cang Chai. On the coming back way, ride a motorbike from Khau Pha pass to Lim Mong, Lim Thai - the village in the middle of Cao Pha valley - with beautiful scenery of rice terrace field, mountain, and stream.

You come back to Yen Bai city then catch the bus back from Yen Bai to Hanoi and arrive Hanoi in the evening. Your guide will say goodbye and see you again on another journey.
